Jon Lindstrom has reached a 30 year milestone on General Hospital

The actor who portrays Kevin Collins is excited about his journey.

John Lindstrom is celebrating 30 years on GH

Fans of Jon Lindstrom would love to see more of him as he is considered a legal character who has been a staple on General Hospital for 3 decades. Fans have enjoyed his dual roles of the good-hearted Dr. Kevin Collins and his evil twin Dr. Ryan Chamberlain. His soap opera career began in 1985 when he portrayed Mark McCormick on Santa Barbara. He later had the role of Paul Jarre in the short-lived NBC daytime drama Generations. He also appeared in the GH spin-off Port Charles.

At this current time on General Hospital Kevin is not in any front burner activity but fans love the dynamic between the good doctor and his wife Major Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Together they are attempting to assist Esme Prince (Kristen Avery Pohl) as she manages life as a single mom. Lindstrom portrayed twins Ryan and Kevin so effortlessly and distinctively different that viewers at times forgot that one man was playing both roles.

The soap vet elaborates on his career

Lindstrom is a man of many talents as he is also a writer, producer, musician, and director. In 2011 he took a 2-year hiatus from GH to portray Craig Montgomery on the CBS soap As the World Turns but returned to General Hospital in 2013. On December 3 the soap vet celebrated 30 years in Port Charles and Soaps in Depth reported his saying the following.

“I woke up this morning to see that today, Dec. 3, marks… oh wow… 30 years since I debuted as Dr. Kevin Collins on GH,” Lindstrom marveled in an Instagram video to fans. “I had no idea. I knew that it had been a long time but 30 years since the doppelganger to Dr. Ryan Chamberlin was introduced. It really is remarkable. It’s been a great ride. A great run. It’s like an entire career right there. And I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It’s just been great.

An impressive career

John Lindstrom's additional credits include the television movies The Alamo: 13 Days till Glory, and The Facts of Life Goes to Paris. He has appeared in the TV series Empty Nest, Fall from Grace, Baywatch, Blue Bloods, The Sacrifice, 21 Jump Street, The Ritual, and more. His film roles include God's Not Dead 2, The Hard Easy, How We Got Away with It, and What Happens Next.

Lindstrom is an active member of the Directors Guild of America, the Screen Actors Guild, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and AFTRA. he is also active as an athlete. He married actress Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) The Young and the Restless, Susan Banks/ Kristen Dimera) Days of Our Lives) in 1997 but they divorced in 2000. In 2014 he married soap vet Cady McClain ( Rosanna) As the World Turns, DIxie Carter (All My Children), Jennifer Horton (Days of Our Lives).

​Lindstrom was born in Medford, Oregon, to Robert, a TV advertising executive, and Suzanne Lindstrom, a homemaker. He has an older brother, Jeff. As a drummer, Lindstrom recorded the album Feel Free to Do So with the band The High Lonesome for the Spark Records label.[1][2][3] The record garnered much industry praise and "most-added" status for two singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
