On Wednesday Caitland shared the following on Instagram. "Going full camp for pops,"Beyond grateful." Caitlin will portray Annie, the daughter of her father's GH character, who was named for family friend Anna Devane. For those who are not aware of the importance of Sean Donely the following will bring you up to speed. Fans of the character and his portrayer will enjoy a trip down memory lane.

Sean and Tiffany

In 1984, Sean Donely was a former WSB agent who was searching for the Aztec treasure. Luke Spencer was on the run from murder charges and his best friend Robert Scorpio sent to Donely who had been his WSB boss. Sean came out of retirement and was excited to have the challenge of being a spy again. He made the mistake of kidnapping Robert's loved ones but when he believed he had accidentally killed Robert he was horrified. When Robert turned up alive, and Sean was so relieved he allowed his old friend to arrest him without any controversy.

In 1990 it was revealed that Sean had teamed up with Faison to stop Robert and Anna's marriage because he did not desire to see the two spies wed to each other. Over time the relationship between the two men was patched up Sean's life began to change. He was later named godfather to Robert and Anna's daughter Robin but still had a wild streak and began an affair with the very married Dr. Monica Quartermaine. When terrorists put him on their hit list, Sean was able to stop them with the help of Anna and Duke Lavery, Robert, and Tiffany Hill. Sean and Tiffany dated but he could not remain faithful.

Eventually, things worked out and Sean and Tiffany were married in of all places the Quartermaine mansion. Soon after he helped Felicia find the grave of her husband Frisco who was allegedly had been killed. Sean was no boy scout and during his time in Port Charles, he did some pretty shady things. Sean was an accomplice of Jerry Jacks in poisoning the Port Charles water supply and helped Cesar Faison to ake his death. Sean also falsely confessed to murdering Jessica Holmes. Sean later became the Port Charles police commissioner.

In 1994, after being shot by mobster Frank Smith Sean needed special medical assistance so he and Tiffany left Port Charles and went to Boston. Prior to leaving the couple announced they were going to have a baby. The couple returned to town in 2008 as part of the cast of General Hospital Night Shift. They supported Robert Scorpio who was battling colon cancer and also announced they had a teenage daughter named Anne, after Anna Devane. Kudos to General Hospital for honoring Sean Donely and using John Reilly's daughter Catilin to take part in the tribute.
