Lexi Ainsworth seems interested in The Young and the Restless

The List recently shared comments made by Lexi Ainsworth who announced a few weeks ago that she and General Hospital had parted ways.

"I actually did audition for Y&R last year when they were recasting Summer, but that was for more of, like, a blonde bombshell, which I am not. But a lot of people who I loved to work with on GH are on other soaps, like on Y&R, there's Brytni [Sarpy] and Jason [Thompson, Billy; ex-Patrick, GH] and Elizabeth Hendrickson [Chloe; ex-Margaux, GH], who I would love to work with again."

Sarpi portrayed Valerie Spencer and she and Lexi's character Kristina Davis shared a kiss but before General Hospital viewers could see where this was headed Sarpy left the show to go full-time on The Young and the Restless as Elena Dawson. Like Lexi, Britny was not being utilized much on the soap and who knows they might work together again someday.

Kate Mansi debuts soon as the new Kristina on GH

Ainsworth was replaced by Kate Mansi whose first appearance was Wednesday, May 24. If Aibnworth was auditioning for another role last year thsi suggests she must have been dissatisfied with her GH role and who could blame her? The ABC soap has not featured Kristina in quite a while and the character was only seen once in a while usually with her mother Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and sisters Molly Corinthos Davis ( Holiday Krfiegal) and SamMcCall (Kelly Monaco). In Kriegal's first episode, she was brainstorming with her family and fans are hoping the character will have a life outside of the Davis women.

Ainsworth first portrayed Kristina in 2009 and 2011 announced she had been fired. Lindsay Morgan took over as Alexis's daughter with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and was written out in 2013. Lexi returned in 2015 and continued to play Kristiana until recently. Her other recent roles were Amber in Shameless, and Jessica Burns in the 2015 film A Girl Like Her. Regarding trying out for the part of Summer Newman the character has always been a blonde ever since childhood. Perhaps now that the actress has acknowledged her interest in the CBS soap a role might be created for her.

Will The Young and the Restless hire Lexi?

Peacock snatched up Ainsworth's General Hospital castmate Steve Burton for Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem 2 when he was fired for not complying with the Covid mandate. They brought back his character Harris Michaels who had not been seen in Salem in over 30 years. He is now on Days of Our Lives and acknowledged he has a one-year contract. Ainsworth left GH just when her character might have been getting more air time if the spoilers are correct. The rumor mill is teasing that Kristina might become a surrogate and carry a baby for her sister Molly who cannot conceive due to endometriosis.

The actress said during a recent interview that she was looking forward to that storyline due to her own personal experience with the health issue which further suggests that she was ousted more than a mutual decision taking place.
