How to fight fear and bad past, learn from harry potter
Hey everyone,
So basically, I love reading books, I don’t care that whether it is fiction or non-fiction.
Many people who read books wanted to learn something from them, because of that they sometimes ignore or not read fiction novels although fiction novels are bestselling but still people take fiction as only for entertainment.
People don’t extract information from the fiction but many fiction can give more knowledge than non-fiction.
The fiction story that taught me a hundred things is “harry potter”. I know a lot of you read harry potter or atleast watched its movie.I done both, and The thing i will tell is that harry potter’s book are better than the movie, ya movie feel better because they are fast and you don’t need to push your brain to imagine what is going on, it is in front of your eyes in movies but books can connect more because in this you have all control, how you want to imagine things,places,characters,situation or any aura or envoriment and even you can imagine yourself as a spectator when you are reading a book and second thing that lead me to choose harry potter’s novel over its movies is that ,if you see the books length, They are quite big.
You can conver a book of 300 to 500 page inside a movie but it is nearlly imposible to cover a 700 to 1000 pages novel inside one story. That why there are many things inside book that you can’t find inside the movies.
So let get to the teaching of the novel.
How to counter our bad past or fear:-
This is one of the biggest psychological problems an individual faces in his lifetime, so what in the book said that can help you to counter this problem?
Let me give you the answer.
Do you remember the spell Expecto patronum? The spell that is used to drive away from the Dementors.
So JK rowling uses great symbolism in the story. Dementors represent our pasts, bad feeling, sadness, everything that cause pain to you.
Let me ask you another question, do you remember how to cast this spell? if not then let me recall you that, For creating a corporeal Patronus the caster need to start remembering good things, positive things or incident, Anything or incident that put a smile on your face or make you feel happy and after thinking about these positive things you will able to create a corporeal Patronus. Hope you will remember that this Patronus get rid of dementors,
Applying in real life, corporeal Patronus represents Positivity and things or incident that makes you happy and Dementors are a representation of negative thoughts, bad past, or anything that made you sad. So in short thinking about a good incident that made you happy helps you to get rid of your negative thoughts.
Boggart in your real life:-
Do you remember the boggart? The creature took shape of the victim’s worst fear.
Do you remember what spell is used to fight against it? The name of the spell is also taught a great lesson.
The name of the spell was “Riddikulus”, Which sound just like “Ridiculous”.
Imagine that one you are returning from your work or school to your home and you saw or experience your worst fear. Like if you have fear of a spider, then you saw a giant spider standing in front of you, what will you do even if that spider is just imaginary?
Okay, do you remember what happens when a wizard or witch uses this spell on a boggart?
Let me remind you, The boggart will change its shape from the victim’s greatest fear to something funny or make you happy.
Let implement this in our real life, The fear only exists inside your mind, harry potter teaches this very well.
On facing our worst fear we can say, “ It is ridiculous” and change our imaginary fear to something funny, like taking the example of a spider, On seeing a spider you can imagine a soft toy or anything funny.
Just remember, fear only exists inside your mind.
Never take any fiction just as a story or entertainment, it can teach you a lot of things, you just need a perspective.
