Greg Rikaart joins Days of Our Lives Beyond Salem

Greg Rikaart portrays Kevin Fisher on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS but currently is not involved in any front burner storylines. He has only been seen sporadically in recent months when he is supporting his wife Chloe. Fans of the actor will be happy to learn that he is reprising his DAYS OF OUR LIVES role as Leo Stark. A 5 part miniseries BEYOND SALEM will air on PEAKCOCK that features past and present town residents, some of them who are presumed to be dead.

Initially, Billie Reed, (Lisa Rina) was the only former cast member of the NBC soap who was named as being a part of the new show. Now, there are a few more names to add to the list with Rikaart and Rina. They are Andre DiMera, (Thaao Penghlis), Austin Reed, (Austin Peck), and Carrie Brady (Christie Clark), Spoilers tease that more characters will be listed as the debut of BEYOND SALEM approaches,

BEYOND SALEM will revolve around missing jewels that ISA agent Billie Reed will be trying to track down. Her search will take her to various cities all over the world and at each location, she will run into people she knows from Salem. No date has been released for the premiere episode or how each character fits into the storyline. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS let Greg Rikaart go after 14 years on the CBS and after an outcry from his fans the soap but later rehired him. During his time away from Genoa City the actor began portraying Leo Stark on DAYS OF OUR LIVES in 2018 and remained in the role off and on until 202o. Initially, Leo was hired by Vivian Alamain to date Sonny Kiriakis, and to intern at TITAN where he was the CEO. Sonny broke up with Leo because he did not desire to mix business with pleasure.

During his time in Salem Leo was involved in blackmail, sending fake text messages, lawsuits, and being exposed as a prostitute. Stark's real name was later revealed to be Matthew Cooper. Of all the characters mentioned returning to be a part of BEYOND, SALEM Leo seems like a sure bet for being the jewel thief but it could be anyone. Rikaart's Y&R character began as a shady person but over time was redeemed and became a fan favorite. Leo Stark does not seem to have any redeeming qualities but it's possible thsi miniseries could show a completely different side to this controversial man.

During an interview in 2020 with SOAP OPERA DIGEST Rikaart revealed that he did not like the way his Y&R character was written out in 2017 and that he was glad Kevin got another chapter which was supposed to begin in November of that year. At that time Kevin and Chloe were living in Katherine Chancellor's mansion along with his mother in law Esther Valentine. The characters moved out after Chloe gave birth to a son, Miles, and viewers have no idea where they are currently living.

The mansion is now inhabited by Abby Newman, Tessa Porter, Nina Reeves, and Mariah Copeland. Those who watch THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS believe Kevin and his family have been given a raw deal. Viewers wonder why Rikaart was brought back to the CBS soap only to sit on the sidelines.
