GENERAL HOSPITAL teen actress Sydney Mikayla has graduated high school and now is college bound both on and off the screen. Her fans are excited for her and say they will have her back even if she has to leave the ABC soap. She will be heading to UCLA in real time while her character Trina Robinson is going to college as well. It is not yet clear whether or not this will affect Trina’s time on the screen but UCLA isnd the GENERAL HOSPITAL studios are both in LA. It would be nice if she can do both but her studies should come first.

Her cast mates William Lipton) Cameron Weber) and Eden McCoy) Joslyn Jax) wil also be attending school in Los Angeles. GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are hoping there is a way that all 3 can still work on the show but right now no one knows. Cam, Trina, and Joss are involved in some interesting situations in Port Charles and their families are trying to keep them safe from Cyrus Renault. Spoilers from Soaps.com say that next week on the soap, Trina will share with Cam that she has been experiencing racism. Viewers are also still wondering if it might turn out that Trina belongs to Curtis Ashford and not Marcus Taggert.

The actress who portrays Trina Robinson was born was born Sydney Mikayla Shepherd on February 1, 2003 to Derek and Sonya Shepherd and dropped her last name professionally. In 2014, Sydney portrayed Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas in the Lifetime biopic and won a Young Artist Award for her performance. Mikayla joined the cast of the ABC daytime soap opera, General Hospital, in 2019 in the role of Trina Robinson. She also is the voice of Wolf in the Netflix animated series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.

The teen’s mom Sonya is also an actress who goes by the name Sonya Leslie who has worked on Broadway, film and television. She has had role in The Days of wine and rose and The Mentalist. Sonya placed her daughter in acting classes at the age of 5 and Mikayla decided to stick with it. Sonya did not push her daughter into acting, but supported Sydney’s choice to pursue a career in the entertainment business. The resemblance between the beautiful mother and daughter.

Sydney Mikayla continued her training at the Amazing Grace Conservatory under actress Wendy Raquel Robinson and also at Debbie Allen’s training academy and is an accomplished ballet dancer. She is also an only child who began homeschooling in 2019 in order to accommodate her work schedule. Perhaps mother and daughter might have some joint projects as did Kim and Chip fields. Both actresses were in separate episodes of the 1970s sitcom Goodtimes and in 1984 Chip portrayed the mom of Kim’s character Tootie Ramsey on The Facts of Life. In the 1990s Chip again portrayed the mother of her daughter’s character Regine on Living Single.

If Sydney Mikayla looks familiar it’s because she her earlier roles included an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba! which was her favorite childhood television program. She also appeared in an episode of the NBC soap opera, Days of Our Lives and in 2011, the actress landed her first credited role in the television film, Little in Common, which was imtended as a series pilot. Mikayla later appeared in episodes of Hot in Cleveland, Whitney, Parenthood, Community, and Hawthorne. GENERAL HOSPITAL fans are excited for whatever comes next for both Dydney and Trina. Be on the lookout for updates on them both.
