'General Hospital' fans have questions about Cyrus Renault

Genie Francis announced a few weeks back that she was taking the summer off from GENERAL HOSPITAL. She actually will be away from the ABC soap until fall and many viewers are questioning the storyline with her character Laura. It was revealed last week that Cyrus Renault may have ordered a hit on his brother and sister and they both now must go into protective custody. Martin as well as Mayor Collins will exit Port Charles until the threat from their disgruntled sibling is over.

GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are confused by this because when Cyrus went to jail it was said that all of his associates turned on him. Allegedly every one of his operatives that had not been killed or arrested had abandoned him and he had no more power. Fans, as well as those in Port Charles, were under the impression that Renault would no longer be an issue. Viewers liked Jeff Kober but were annoyed with the way he took over Port Charles and reigned in terror for a year. Once Kober was let go from his role as the mob boss there have been no news reports that he would return. Now fans of the ABC soap are expected to believe that Renault is rebuilding his kingdom from behind bars and wants his brother and sister dead.

On Monday Jordan and Jason discussed the fact that Cyrus Renault's organization is supposed to be completely dismantled. It was noted that the threat had not yet targeted anyone in the Corinthos family but is this true. The police commissioner even asked if anyone from the five families may be helping the criminal from the outside. At that moment the scene cut to Carly talking to Vincent Novak who said he was sending his nephew Joey out of the country. Could this have been a hint that Novak is involved with Cyrus?

Those who watch GENERAL HOSPITAL had noticed that Martin Gray had not been on screen in a while were sorry to hear that his brief appearance last week may be his last for a while. Nothing has been said regarding why Michael E Knight will be off-screen along with Genie Francis. Perhaps Martin might be seen remotely from time to time rather than simply disappearing. As a side note, the reason Martin and Valentin have so many scenes together is that Michael E Knight and James Patrick Stuart worked together on ALL MY CHILDREN and continue to be close off-screen.

There are a lot of loose ends on GENERAL HOSPITAL that may or may not be connected. Viewers are trying now to put the pieces together to see what fits. Everyone knows that Peter did not kill nurse Chloe Jenkins and that she is in the same location as Drew Cain. Sam and Dante are working to find Drew but don't know Peter is alive and that Nina and Obrecht are trying to kill him. Liesl and Scott are supposed to end up kidnaped by Faison's son while Nina is trying to pretend she can have a life with Mike/Sonny. Is Cyrus involved from jail and if he did put a hit on Martin and Laura is Vincent Novak involved?

If the two men are in cahoot's what could Renault have offered his fellow mobster in exchange for his help and how does this fit in with the other storylines? Could Cyrus still be in touch with Peter August and what does that mean for Drew, Hayden Barnes, and Nurse Chloe? Is the death of Hayden’s mother related to these other unanswered questions and are Sam, Alexis, and Shawn in danger? Who assisted Peter in his escape and how will all of this play out? Be sure to continue watching GENERAL HOSPITAL to find out.

As an update Jeff Kober is back and up to no good.
