Nelle is most likely Nina's daughter

Thursday on General Hospital was a day that loyal fans have been waiting for, but many were disappointed. Viewers have been wanting closure to the storyline about Nina's daughter and it looks like that time is now. Those who enjoy the action in Port Charles knew that Nina’s daughter owns the half of the locket that matches the one Madeline left behind. A majority of those who watch the ABC daytime drama were waiting for Willow or Harmony to produce the piece of jewelry but instead were thrown a curve ball. Willow went to visit Nina who was holding her half of the locket and had a surprised look in her eyes. It seemed as if she recognized the necklace but this scene was obviously only to tease viewer.

Many GH devotees probably in that moment believed the former school teacher would admit she owned the other half. Instead, Willow only admired the heirloom and the conversation went to keeping Nelle from Wiley. At the end of the episode, after arguing with Carly, Nelle was shown with the matching necklace which was in a box of her personal items. Angry fans began lashing out on social media, at this turn of events and many don’t believe Nelle is the true daughter. Some said Ms. Benson must have found the locket or stolen it from the rightful owner. There was talk of Michael's baby mama being Nina's child at one point, but when Chloe Lanier left General Hospital her character went to jail.

Michael and Willow might marry to stop Nelle

Obviously not knowing if or when Ms. Lanier would return, it was assumed that Nelle was not Nina’s daughter and everything seemed to be pointing to Willow. Now that Lanier is back, the writers obviously decided to allow her character to be the missing daughter. Nina has hired Nelle, and she and Carly had a talk about the man who raised them both. It’s obvious General Hospital is gearing up for something big, but what? If viewers are correct and Nelle is not Nina’s long lost daughter, then who could it be? If the locket had been stolen from Willow, then she would have recognized Nina’s half but she did not. There are no other viable candidates for the long lost daughter so it really does look like Nelle is the one.

General Hospital viewers wanted Nina to find her daughter and have a happy reunion, but if Nelle is her child there will only be controversy. Nina is friends with Carly who hates her adopted sister, and desires Michael to gain sole custody of his son. It will be devastating for Nina Reeves to find out she is trying to assist in keeping her own grandchild away from his mother who is her long lost daughter. Since Nelle is working at Crimson she will have to eventually see Nina’s necklace. The question is what will she do with that information? Viewers who wanted sweet, kind, Willow to be Nina’s daughter are outraged that it looks like it’s nasty Nelle Benson instead.

This storyline had gone on much longer than viewers have desired and it needs to have closure. It would not be wise after all this time for General Hospital writers to keep everyone in suspense. Perhaps it was going to be Willow at one time, because things did seem to be going in that direction. It’s most likely that once Chloe Lanier returned and signed a contract, the writers went back to their original plan which was to have Michael’s baby mama to be the biological child of Silas Clay and Nina Reeves. To complicate matters, Willow is considering marrying Michael so she can help him gain full custody of the little boy. This would also give her the opportunity to be a mother to Wiley and help raise him.

Nelle has the other half of the necklace

This situation continues to become more mangled up and tangled up as time goes by. Sasha is all for Willow and Michael getting married, but Chase does not like the idea at all. When Carly was talking to Nelle, she shared how she came to Port Charles with an agenda but changed her life and became a better person. She suggested that her adopted sister do the same. Nelle, however is full of bitterness over how her life turned out and blames Carly for leaving her behind. Should she find out she is Nina's child, and learn the entire story of her birth, could this make a difference? Would Nelle become a kinder and gentler person, worthy of raising little Wiley, or would she simply become even more vile? Be sure to continue tuning in the General Hospital each weekday afternoon to find out.
