Eden McCoy has made a life-changing decisions

Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks ) has been on General Hospital since October 2015. She has become a fan favorite during the past nine years and is an Emmy winner. She was commended for remaining on General Hospital while attending college when two of her castmates decided it was too difficult. Each journey is different, so this is not a comparison or judgment but a sharing of facts.

Will Lipton and Sydney Mikayla chose school over GH

Sydney Micayla (former Trina Robinson) and Will Lipton (Cameron Webber) left their roles in to focus on their studies. Will returned for one episode for the memorial service of Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chaves). In addition to school, he is focusing on his band The Runarounds.

There has not been much news about what Sydney is doing except her announcement last September. She shared that she would be voicing Soleil Le Claire in Dreamworks' FRIGHT KREWE, in October. Regarding McCoy, fans may have assumed the actress was doing a good job working full-time (on contract) at GH and attending college.

Eden explains her decision

Eden recently gave an update, and her situation has changed. She was interviewed on the Podcast Daily Dish and shared with her co-stars Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) that she made the difficult decision to walk away from school for now.

“Learning is so important to me, education is so important to me. But I want to build it towards a goal and towards something. I found an amazing acting class and teacher who I started working with right out of the gate right when I took time off.”

McCoy shared that she left her studies behind when her mother Natasha was diagnosed with cancer and how difficult it was when her mom passed away. She took some time off from General Hospital for bereavement, but now she is back in action. McCoy said she had to take a step back from her studies and refocus. She decided the best choice for her was to concentrate on her career.

“I don’t know my path. I don’t know when, if, I’ll go back. I just know for me, I feel so lucky to one, have a job, two, have a job actually doing something I like… that when I’m here and I have this job, I just want to take as much advantage of it as I can. I’m very happy now with where I’m at.”

What's next for Joss on GH

On General Hospital Joss is involved in several front-burner storylines. She recently broke up with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) but is still concerned for his life. Dex is joining the Port Charles Police Department, and Joss is afraid Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) might kill him. She is aware that Sonny's men beat up FBI agent Jagger Cates and realizes her stepfather has crossed a line.

There was a time when Sonny would not go after law enforcement officials, which is why Joss told Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) that Dex wearing a badge might not protect him from Sonny. Viewers know Sonny's meds have been tampered with, which is why he beat Cyrus Renault almost to death with his bare hands and the attack took place in church.

Joss is also concerned for her friend Trina (now played by Tabyana Ali), who is grieving Spencer, and Josslyn is still taking classes at PCU. best of luck to Eden McCoy, Will Lipton, and Sydney Mikayla on their different paths. Be on the lookout for General Hospital updates to find out if and when Cameron will return to Port Charles and to find out what will happen next Josslyn.
