Elizabeth Hendrickson speaks out

The Young and the Restless fans have noticed that Chloe Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) has not been on screen full-time in quite a while. Her friends Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) have been involved in several recent storylines but Chloe has only been in one episode this month which was on June 1. Hendrickson addressed her status on social media but some fans assumed she meant she was leaving the CBS soap so she clarified.

When an actor is no longer on contract they are not guaranteed a certain number of hours and are only used when the writers decide to have their character in a scene. The last time Chloe was in a really important storyline was when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) helped her fake her death and she left town with her husband Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart). Since returning Rikaart also was not utilized and he is not on Days of Our Lives as Loe Stark where he gets much air-rime and is involved with a number of characters and their storylines.

Chloe has potential

The last time Chloe and Kevin were shown together was when the soap honored Tracey E Bregman who portrays Lauren Baldwin. There is no mention of Chloe's husband or children and with Sally and Chelsea living life without her things don't look good. Some who watch The Young and the Restless are concerned that Chloe will be seen less and less and then be gone just like Kevin.

Chloe has been the go-to person for Chelsea and Sally and lately, it seems she and Chelsea have not had anything to say to one another. Chelsea is spending time with Billy Abbott (Jason Patrick) and their children and making a blended family with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Sally is spending her time between Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Nick Newman (Josh Morrow) and keeping herself calm as she navigates a difficult pregnancy and Chloe is not fitting in anywhere in Genoa City.

Some fans of The Young and the Restless said they enjoyed the episode where Kevin and Chloe were with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren where Judith Chapman returned as Gloria Bardwell. Fans of the Fisherf/Baldwin clan were hoping to see more of their favorites but instead, Y&R is focusing on Audra Charles (Zuleka Charles) who a majority of viewers say they do not like.

Is there hope for Chloe Fisher?

With Rikaart doing well on Days of Our Lives it's not likely that he will return to Y&R anytime soon although working on both series is possible. Wally Kurth portrays Justin Kiriakis on DOOL and Ned Quartermaine on General Hospital. Without her husband, her besties, and her brother and sister-in-law also recurring it would be difficult for Chloe to be involved in a major storyline. The writers would have to be creative to come up with something for her besides being a listening ear to the problems of others.

So fans of The Young and the Restless what do you think? Do you have any ideas for how the writers could bring Chloe back full-time without Kevin or would that be too awkward and should they find a way to get Kevin back on screen as well? What possible storylines could Chloe be a part of without appearing as a flunky for Sally or Chelsea? It's clear by Hendrickson's comments printed in Soaps in depth that she would be working full time if Y&R offered her a contract but they have not.

Be on the lookout for updates related to what Elizabeth Hendrickso0n's character on The Young and the Restless will be doing next. Viewers are already upset by the way Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) was underutilized and then written out and would not like the see the same happen to Chloe's portrayer.
