Did John McCook just reveal his B&B future?

Soaps in Depth is reporting that John McCook has given an update to Soap Opera Digest about his character Eric Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. A portion of it is as follows.

I think maybe I personally would do a little bit of that myself,” McCook confided. “My work is a very important part of my life, and going to Television City in Hollywood [where B&B tapes] is one of the big joys in my life. So if I had that kind of diagnosis and that kind of impending negativity in my health, I think I would try to walk very tall and ignore it and rise above it while I was at work in front of the people I work with, and while I was doing my work, I would try to overcome it. I understand what Eric is doing, I really do.”

Please note that out of McCook's own mouth he said:

My work is a very important part of my life, and going to Television City in Hollywood [where B&B tapes] is one of the big joys in my life.

B&B fans now have more questions

If these words are accurate and not an attempt to manipulate those who watch The Bold and the Beautiful it sounds like the actor is not retiring. This seems to suggest that Eric will get his miracle cure and continue to run Forrester Creations.

Recently Katherine Kelly Lang who portrays Brooke Logan spoke about how the current situaiton has left the casts in tears as the Logans and Forresters deal with Eric's diagnosis. Lang was careful to only speak about the characters and did not say anything about whether her castmate was leaving the CBS soap or not.

Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful are frustrated because they are not getting any clear answers. Initially, there was a lot of empathy for Eric but in recent weeks fans have become disenchanted. B&B viewers are saying they are tired of not knowing what to expect and want a conclusion one way or another.

B&B viewers are angry at the storyline

It is curious that now just before Eric passed out McCook and Lang have decided to speak out. Neither said anything to give fans any answers and this has only increased the frustration of the viewers. Soap fans do not like to be kept in the dark and want answers to theri questions. This storyline seems like executive producer Brad Bell is toying with the viewing audience and it is not having the effect he desired.

While fans love McCook they are losing patience with his character. Last week when Eric began crying and told Donna he was afraid this should have been a tear-jerker moment for viewers. Instead, some were saying in Facebook groups that they wished the character would get his miracle or die and all of this would be over. On Monday Eric was still at home getting oxygen and continuing to refuse to see his doctor or go to the hospital.

McCook Lang did not help B&B fans

John McCook and Katherine Kelly Lang were talking loud but saying nothing in their interviews and B&B fans are saying on social media they don't understand the point. There seems to be a disconnect between what the fans enjoy and what the powers that be are giving them.

Viewers say they are tired of seeing Eric coughing up blood and kissing Donna. They also want teh truth to come out that Eric did not win the contest and for all of the Forreterss including Zende (Delon de Metz) to learn the truth.

Fans understand that this storyline already has a conclusion that will play out but McCook's interview with Soap Opera Digest nothing to reveal which way things are headed. Stay tuned to The Bold and the Beautiful to find out what happens next.

McCook said in 2018 that he plans to work until he cannot remember his lines or until he cannot keep up the busy schedule. Clearly, he's not struggling, so I vote Eric is sticking around.
