Devon has his money back but ‘Y&R’ viewers are still angry over pointless storyline

The best way to describe what happened to Devon Hamilton on The Young and the Restless is to say poof he was a billionaire and then he was not, and poof he is rich again. Many of those who watch the CBS daytime drama are expressing outrage on Facebook and Twitter that this storyline ever took place. Now, suddenly Colin has returned every penny which is not even possible. The fact that Jill’s soul mate was traveling the world and eluding the police indicates that he was spending money. Viewers want to know what he did to replace the funds he already used. Perhaps he ran some kind of scam or gambled to pay it off. Soap fans are not easily fooled and Y&R devotees need answers.

Another question viewers have on their minds is what happened to Cane? Fans know that Daniel Goddard is no longer on the CBS daytime drama, but there needs to be closure with the character. Cane said he was going to find his father and clear his name. As a matter of fact, Csne Adhby has not even been mentioned. Kevin and Chance helping Devon get his money back is not in any way helping Cane clearing his name. There is no way at this point to know whether or not Mr. Ashby had anything to do with the missing money being taken or returned. Fans of the talented Goddsrd are hoping that he may come back to Genoa City but there has been no confirmation this will happen. Jill is trying to get Billy to run Chsncellor industries, the twins are in college and the Ashby home has been sold. There is no chance of reconciliation for Lily and her former spouse. Daniel Goddard's last tweet was a condolence to the Bell family on the death of Y&R co-creator Lee Phillip Bell. Prior to that his tweets have been family related or motivational in nature.

Many viewers say they do not understand why Cane was removed from the canvas and can’t make sense of the purpose of the storyline regarding Devon’s inheritance. Some have wondered and why this scenario even took place. Basically all this storyline served to do is be a vehicle for Daniel Goddard’s exit. Last week after getting his money back, Devon said Colin had sent him a note of apology. This does not even sound like Mr. Atkinson at all. Those who enjoy The Young and the Restless have been vocal in their dislike of current Genoa City events. Within the three months of this year, Billy and Victoria broke up, Amanda’s ex stabbed Vicki, Kyle walked out on Lola for Summer and Phyllis scammed the Grand Phoenix away from Abby and Chelsea.

Last week Jill confided in her grandson that she loved Colin in spite of everything. This, along with his returning the money he stole from Devon may indicate that The Young and the Restless plans to redeem Cane's dad. Since Devon does not want to press any charges, this indicates that Colin is no longer facing criminal charges. Tristan Rogers is under contract on General Hospital so it’s not likely he will return to The Young and the Restless any time soon. Jill howeve might reconcile with him off camera. Spoilers don’t say much about Devon and Elena in coming weeks so it’s not clear what is next on their agenda. Elena and Nate always seem to be on hand in a crisis just like Paul Williams ones around for crimes.

Nate and Elena were called when Nikki found the baby in the Newman stables and the duo were there to assist Victoria after she was stabbed. At one point Y&R fans thought Elena and Nate might get together and some have voiced they want Devon with Amanda. Right now Amanda is friendly with both Billy and Nate so it’s not clear who will end up with whom. Devon and Elena seem to be coasting along but some fans find them boring. Viewers are wondering what direction their lives will take once things are finalized with the money. Viewers will be glad when this unpopular storyline is finalized and everyone can move on from it.

Some viewers say there is no spark with Devon and Elena and that’s why they want him with Amanda. The writers obviously have other ideas because they are keeping Devon and Amanda far away from each other. Phyllis is becoming as close with Ms. Sinclair as she had been to Hilary and Nate seems to have feelings for the doppelgänger but spoilers say she and Billy will explore their relationship soon. On Tuesday Devon and Elena ran into Amanda at the coffee house and expressed their sorrow at all that has taken place.
