Courtney Hope abruptly fired from 'The Bold and the Beautiful'

Spoiler alerts suggested it and fans were hoping it would not happen but now it has become a reality. Courtney Hope has been released from her role as Sally Spectra on The Bold and the Beautiful. Soaps She Knows says the actress announced her fate on social media after Monday's episode. Hope says she is just as shocked as the fans, so she obviously had no idea this was coming. Courtney Hope is beautiful and talented and viewers are angry at what the CBS daytime drama has done with her character.

When she first arrived in LA, Sally had great chemistry with Thomas Forrester, (then Pierce Forde.) It looked as if the two were poised to become a powerful super couple in romance as well as in the fashion world. Instead, Sally began acting like her namesake aunt and stealing fashion designs. Bill Spencer took everything away from her and she ended up homeless and on the beach until Wyatt took her in. The character has been in a downward spiral ever since. On social media fans who support Courtney Hope are outraged at the way, the character was treated as well as the way she is exiting.

On Monday, Sally begged Wyatt to forgive her and he said he would. He also told her things would never be the same and he could not forget what she had done. This seems a little self-righteous considering Flo participated in the baby switch which kept Hope and Liam away from their daughter for close to a year. A number of B&B devotees expressed their dissatisfaction when the fake death storyline began. Watching the talented Courtney Hope pretend to need a walker, and wearing pale makeup to look sick.

Some viewers expressed months ago that they could not see Ms. Spectra coming back from this. Spoilers suggested that perhaps she and Thomas might get back together. Now everyone knows for certain that Sally will soon be long gone but this should not have come as a great surprise. The Bold and the Beautiful has a pattern that they have stuck to and not veered from for several decades. The show will always revolve around the immediate family members of the Forrester, Spencer, and Logan clans. Everyone else ends up as collateral damage. There are even a few close relatives who get sent packing every time they show up.

Thorne Forester has been recast three times and he never sticks around to put down roots. The same for Donna Logan. She shows up in a few scenes and then disappears for long periods of time. Charlie and Pam are fan favorites but they remain off the screen more than they are seen. Executive producer Brad Bell obviously does not know what to do with characters of color either. The way they put Justin Barber on contract, reduce him to recurring status, and then repeat the process is ridiculous. Detective Sanchez shows up about once a year and the entire Avant family is MIA.

Zoe, Xander, Emma, RJ and Coco were all younger cast who could have been developed, but they were not. The Bold and the Beautiful exists to give viewers reruns of the same boring love triangles year after year. Steffy, Liam, and Hope along with Ridge, Brooke and Bill are what the writers obviously believe the viewers want to see. Soap vet Vincent Irrizary was brought on board but only had a few scenes during a 2 week period. Now a new doctor in town is supposed to be a love interest for Steffy but no one believes it will last.

Courtney Hope says she is excited to find out what the future holds and her fans wish her well. Perhaps she might get a role on General Hospital where her boyfriend Chad Duell portrays Michael Corinthos III. If nothing else, Hope will be used as a stand-in for love scenes should Michael and Willow become a romantic couple. The Bold and the Beautiful had stopped using Hope once before then brought her character back only to desecrate her. This is why so many viewers are troubled at this turn of events.
