Soaps She Knows obtains information straight from the ABC studio and their spoiler alerts prove to be accurate. They are now reporting that actress Brooke Kerr has been hired as a cast member on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. Her character will be a doctor by the name of Portia Robinson, but no details of a storyline have been provided. Since Robinson is Trina’s last name, the chances are that she and Portia will turn out to be mother and daughter. A few weeks back it was revealed that Marcus Taggert is Trina’s father and he asked her to have her mother call him. This let General Hosputal viewers know that her mom indeed is in the picture. Since Portia is a doctor, this would explain why she is not around a lot and her daughter has such free reign.

If Brooke Kerr looks familiar to Soap fans, it’s because she portrayed Whitney Russell Harris on the NBC television soap opera Passions. Kerr was born on November 21 1973 and has one son, Chris Warren Jr., whom she gave birth to when she was only 16 years old. She and her son’s father, her long-time boyfriend Christopher Warren separated in 2009. Chris Warren Jr. is also an actor; having appeared as Zeke in High School Musical, and both suquels, High School Musical 2, and High School Musical 3.

The actress was in 3T’s music video “ Why” in 1995, and she can currently be seen in Kenny Chesney's video for his new single "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven". In addition to Passions, Kerr portrayed Tara Thornton in 2008 in an unaired first pilot of the HBO TV series True Blood. She was later replaced in the role by Rutina Wesley. In 2009 the actress was in “Flower Girl” and now she will join the cast of General Hospital where she will make her first appearance on March 5th.

There is much potential for Portia in Port Charles, if the writers decide to develop the character, but you never know which way things will go. General Hosputal viewers had high hopes for Drew, Kim, and Oscar as a family and now none of the three are on the show. If this new character is indeed Trina’s mother, then she could end up in the crosshairs of Cyrus Renault. It’s not known yet if this will be a contract role so perhaps she might be one of the three casualties that spoilers have mentioned. Should that happen then Taggert will have to stick around to raise his daughter, or both could leave Port Charles.

There is always the possibility that Taggert could die and Portia will continue to raise her child alone. If, however, Dr. Robinson sticks around snd her baby daddy comes out of the mob war unscathed, she might hookup with Marcus Taggert again. The fact that Trina is a Robinson seems to suggest her parents were not married when she was born, or perhaps the last name Robinson is used to protect them from the detective’s enemies. Spoiler alerts will bring forth new information as it becomes available so fans should just sit tight and watch how all of this plays out.

There are many possible scenario’s since viewers are in the dark about the backstory of these characters. It might be possible that Curtis knows Trina’s mom and once dated her. Some General Hospital viewers are still holding out that the two may be father and daughter. Last week Vurtis actually asked Jirdan if she were the teen’s mother and she explained that her relationship with Taggert has always been strictly business. One thing that is certain is that right now Trina and Cameron are in trouble and need all hands on deck to help them until Cyrus can be stopped. Be sure to keep the date March 5th in mind for Portia’s arrival in Port Charles and continue watching all the action on ABC at 2:00 PM EST.
