'Boomerang' Thanksgiving Day Classic Cartoon Feast
16 nonstop hours of the old school favorites that baby boomers grew up with.
If you are a classic cartoon lover, the Boomerang Network has a treat in store for you beginning on Thanksgiving Day. They will be airing 82 hours of nothing but the old school cartoons that baby boomers and their children grew up enjoying. From 10:00 AM on Thursday November 26 until 6:00 AM on Monday the 30th you can feast on the animated shows you have loved for generations. Some of them are currently on the Boomerang schedule but others you might not have viewed for many years. If you have other plans on Thanksgiving Day, you can tape the episodes you choose to watch later.
There will be two 30 minute episodes at a time of each classic cartoon that will repeat over the four day period. Binging on these hilarious shows will be just the thing to get your mind off of COVID-19 and not being able to enjoy the holiday as you normally would have. Here is the lineup and practically all of the most popular Hanna-Barbera classics will be aired. Following is the Thanksgiving Day lineup
10:00 (AM) The Yogi Bear Show.
Follow the antics of Booboo and his best friend Yogi who is smarter than the average bear. Laugh as they steal picnic baskets in Jellystone Park and get on the nerves of "Mr. Ranger sir".
11:00 Magilla Gorilla.
Enter Mr. Peebles Pet shop where Magilla is always getting into trouble and costing lots of money.
12 Noon The Huckleberry Hound show
Spend some time with the lovable southern gentleman blue hound dog and his sidekick Ding a ling wolf.
1:00 (PM) Looney Tunes
Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam, and other favorite characters will have you cracking up as they take you down memory lane.
2:00 Scooby and Scrappy and Yabba Doo
Enjoy the antics of Scooby’s overzealous nephew who believes in fighting with puppy power.
3:00 Popeye
Popeye the sailor saving his girl Olive Oil from Bluto is always a treat.
4:00 Top Cat
Join the alley cat and his friends as they come up with schemes for survival.
5:00 The Yogi Bear Show
A true blast from the past will be Yogi and Boo boo snatching picnic baskets in Jellystone Park while being pursued by Mr. Ranger sit.
6:00 Looney Tunes
Bugs bunny, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, Dylvester and Tweety are sure to brighten the day.
7:00 The Jetsons
The futuristic space family wil bring back fun memories of Saturday afternoon cartoons.
8:00 The Flintstones
9:00 Scooby Doo Where Are You
This is one of the most popular cartoons ever and had been rebooted many times for new generations. There also are a number of animated and live action movies based on this 1969 Hanna- Barbera gem.
10:00 Johnny Quest
Join Johnny, his friend Haghi and dog Bandit as they travel through dangers in the jungle.
11:00 Josie and the Pussycats
Oh that theme song. "Jose and the Pussycats, long tails and ears for hats. Guitars in sharp B flat, Neat seeet a groovy song everybody come along hurry hurry."
Midnight Wacky Races
This cartoon introduced us to sweet Penelope Pitstop, Dick Dastardly and his dog Mutly and led to several spinoff animated classics.
The coronavirus continues to affect our lives and limit what our choices are. Wearing masks, lockdowns, sheltering in place, no dine in eating or movies etc. are causing a lot of frustration. Instead of beign troubled by what you cannot do, allow the Boomerang Feast to give you something to be thankful for. This is a chance to reminisce about the truly good old days so please enjoy.
