Billy Abbott and Lily Ashby have a long history on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. They were friends for years and then slept together once when they were much younger when Billy Miller had the role of Jill’s son. Some viewers thought the duo was cute together and expected them to become a couple. Nothing came of it at the time but now with Jason Thompson in the role of John Abbott’s youngest son the Blily are officially an item.

Some fans adored these two together and they grew on other viewers, Billy and Lily were seen as a breath of fresh air on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, The duo work together at Chancecomm and have fallen in love which was enjoyable to most who watch the CBS soap. There are always nay sayers and now there are viewers complaining because the couple seems to be too good to be true. Billy wines, dines, and romances Lily and last week they spoke about moving in together. Some who watch the show are saying their love story is predictable and superficial and the couple does not have any staying power.

The one thing that a lot of Y&R fans are expecting is that the relationship will soon be ruined by Billy’s impulses, Victoria’s meddling, or both. A number of fans also have expressed on social media that they believe Vicki and Billy will eventually find their way back to each other and Lily will be hurt in the process. Some who watch the CBS soap are actually doing a countdown to how long before things go south for Blily. There have been rumors that Daniel Goddard might return to THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS as Cane Ashby and if true this would create quite a stir.

If Goddard returned there are several angles that could be pursued. Cane might try to get his wife back and could plot with Victoria who desires to be back in the arms of Billy. Victoria and Cane once kissed so something might happen between the two of them. This is all speculation and there is also the fact that the writers have been careful to remove all traces of Lily Ashes’s former life.

As mentioned in past articles, Christel Khalil went on recurring status on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS while Mal Young was head writer. Lily's life took a drastic turn when she pulled out in front of a truck and caused the death of Hilary and Devon’s unborn child. Lily went to prison and was only seen rarely and ended her marriage to her husband shortly after Billy blabbed that Cane had kissed Victoria. he actually drove all the way to the out of town prision to announce the bad news.

Although many fans considered Lane as a super couple there are others who saw them as boring. Lily went from being a wife, mother of teen twins and step mom to a little boy that was rarely seen to being free and single and able to mingle. Cane left town to search for his dad and viewers assumed that little Sam was in tow. This was one of the storylines that fans could not figure out and some wonder if Daniel Goddard returns will his little boy be with him?

Billy Abbott seemed to be changing for the better but the more time he spends with his ex wife, the more viewers see glimpses of the old Billy. Victor Newman will never accept Billy Boy into family as the two loathe each other. Billy also spends excessive amounts of time focusing on Adam. Lily just seems to want to enjoy her new freedom while trying to keep Billy in check. Be on the lookout for updates to the Blily saga and whether or not Cane will return to Genoa City.
