BEING AN INTROVERT is the Flashy New Outfit You Want to Show Off Out on the Town

Introversion is totally hot this year.

How will anyone know you're an introvert without a beanie from American Outfitters?

Fashion experts predict that the number one standout look this season is being an introvert.

You've probably noticed the hordes of articles with subjects like "how people don't understand introverts" and "how to treat introverts" and "why introverts are better than those filthy annoying and mundane extroverts that are so 2000s."

It's not a coincidence...

Introversion is the perfect pairing for that scarf and fedora that look like you picked from the trash or that skirt from Urban Outfitters that you say you bought at a thrift store. It complements excellently with that book you're pretending to read that you hope someone notices enough to ask you what it is so you can act annoyed that they disturbed you.

According to modern thinking, introverts are people who tell other people that they tend to minimize their contact with other people. Another way to explain modern introversion is "the state of or tendency toward being wholly or predominantly concerned with and interested in letting other people know that they aren't concerned with other people."

Claiming you're an introvert is a major piece in your wardrobe that perfectly ties together the personality you've purchased. It's like a belt or a handbag or even shoes—no outfit is complete without it.

But you should also adopt an armoire of embellishing explanations of why or how you're an introvert or why you don't understand people who just don't "get it." These are nice complements to any introverted look. Think of these explanations like an obnoxiously embellished handbag or a wonderfully ostentatious bow tie.

A BuzzFeed Top Commenter named Gina begrudgingly took some time from focusing introspectively and reading books you've probably never read before to post her two cents on an article titled "8 Things ONLY INTROVERTS Will Understand," which is a numbered list of 5 word sentences accompanied by reality tv star and celebrity gifs with quotes on why they don't like attention.

Gina—Top Commenter :"What's so wrong about wanting to spend my day off in my PJ's, drinking coffee half the day, and either reading or playing video games? I work 50 hours a week, but no one understands why I'm content to just relax home when I get time off work. Well, BuzzFeed understands..." (863 likes)

That's right Gina, no one understands except BuzzFeed, 863 people who liked your comment and just about everyone else that wanting to relax after work is a totally reasonable and normal activity that humans do sometimes between commenting on BuzzFeed every 30 minutes (albeit a super weird, intelligent and unique activity that only you do, Gina). But not too many know that this necessarily makes you an introvert. That's right, just wanting to relax by yourself for any amount of time—at all ...ever... labels you as an introvert, which automatically means you are super-intelligent and independent. Congratulations! Now let's accessorize!

A replier says,

"Same here, I am proud of the fact that for two days straight I don't make any contact with anyone." (315 likes)

(While directly making contact with someone and the entire world via the internet.)

It is a major international tragedy that we are all so misunderstood while being so incredibly similar. We would rather just have everyone know all the time that we would like to be alone and that's why Being An Introvert (without all the unnecessary social anxiety and psychological issues traditional introverts have) is so hot right now.

Solitude, isolation, reading books, watching "nerdy" shows, making art and music and cutting off communication with people is what an introvert prefers to communicate with people about. Pair that claim of introversion with a selfie showing how much you don't look for attention with your new knit cap and fingerless gloves for that Autumn look.

Do you have a Youtube channel where you sit in front of a webcam and upload your thoughts on how you dislike being the center of attention because you are much more satisfied bettering yourself when no one is around? Of course you do. Well don't forget to wear your fashionable horned-rimmed glasses! A must for any introvert this season.

If you like to spend your introversion using Google trends like I do, take a minute to compare introversion with Carl Jung.

You'll notice as introvert popularity goes up, Carl Jung goes down. Introversion is hot right now. Carl Jung is not hot right now.

Carl Jung is out. Carl Jung is so 2005 that he's about as relevant as whatever pop song normies listened to in 2005, so don't get caught wearing him,

Luckily it seems that you probably haven't even heard of this no-name designer anyway.

Are you a misanthrope? You are? That's great, because since about 2010 so is everyone else, you're going to fit right in to the new MISANTHROPE trend that isn't threatening to ever go out of style. Add an attitude that people bore you to your look, which can be found under the fashion label "Unique" and their "Misunderstood" line. Imagine showing up at the club with your coveted Misanthropic T-Shirt, and having friendly conversations about your "I prefer the company of cats" hat, and excusing yourself to dance with your Solitude Shoes making you the center of the attention that you claim to not want to want.

So don't get stuck with the same humdrum fashions that no one else is always wearing, Introversion is the new black. And it's the sensible fashion choice that turns everyone's head as you flaunt it around town and on the internet. Not being concerned with people is what all the people are talking about this year.
