Reading can be an amazing experience for those that turn its pages and are transported into another time and place. It is an out of body experience at times as the reader is swept up in a world that is completely separate from the one in which we live.

Those that read have the power to do anything in any world they so choose. You can ride on the backs of dragons, hear the clashing of steel against steel, feel the electricity of magic flowing in your veins, and can transform at will. It is the magic that the book contains. You can allow yourself to be the characters, get into their minds, root for them, and in many cases fall in love with them.

All of this is why reading has a magical quality that not much can come close to.

Does that sound intriguing for you? If so, all you need to do is have a guide to find the book that best fits you.

Well let us begin the journey!

Nonfiction or Fiction?

This is the most important question. If you answer nonfiction than you go into a world that I absolutely know nothing about. With that being said there are plenty of sources that you can go to, also known as the library.

Sorry I am not the most knowledgeable in this area.

If you said fiction than this next part is for you. Now if you are into nonfiction and you are still here thank you so much for taking the time!

Now in fiction there are many genres so this is where it will get complicates.

Fantasy.

There are many subcategories to this so I will briefly summarize. Young adult (those meant for middle-schooler's to mid twenties), Adult (mid-twenties and up), and of course Children's.

Not there is no age discrimination these are just the target audiences, which will play into the plot and content.

In this category we find all the magical worlds, talking animals, and anything else that would never be a possibility in the mortal world (other than cinematography). There is a merit to these worlds being based in an element of reality. With that element of reality, the fantastical elements are that much more attainable to the reader.

The actual reading is typically fast-paced, with a few bigger sentences here and there for added effect to create a world that we can fully see.

Science fiction.

In this genre we are more reality based. We are seeing not only more technology but the reality behind it. It reads more logically based and because of this the grammar tends to be cleaner, the sentences longer, and the print shorter.

Mythology.

Here is a fun genre. In this genre the world becomes more relatable than even fantasy as it is based largely on the beliefs of past cultures and groups of people. Some are still believed as a religion today. There is a more solemn tone as there is a respect for past cultures and the history that brought us here.

These reads vary from having to explain the worlds in detail to almost reading as fan fiction.

There are many more genres to get into, but if I continue this will be too long of an article.

We do not want you to get bored while learning about books now would we?

Thank you so much for reading this article and taking the time out of your day to do so. I am on other platforms as well and all of the links will be down below if you want to see more of my work. It is not all books and writing, for as much as I do enjoy that!

Have a great rest of your day!
