Ashton Arbib confirms he is no longer on ‘General Hospital’

Its the stuff soap operas are made of someone is pronounced dead, their loved ones mourn only to later have the deceased return to the land of the living. Sadly it can now be confirmed that General Hospital actor Ashton Arbib will not be one of them, (at least not now). A recent tweet from the teen made it crystal clear that Dev Corbin is dead and will not have a miraculous return. GH already has Marcus Taggert who is running around town when he is so posed to be deceased. He will eventually let his loved ones know he is alive and well. This is why it was not a stretch to believe Dev is still with us and in truth he might be.

The teen thanked Sonny for giving him a family then asked him to tell Joss that he was sorry. Devs head fell back and the look on Sonny’s face implied he had passed away.Dev was not pronounced dead by paramedics and never down being taken to a general Hospital. This is why fans on social media suggested he might still be alive and this s leaves the door open for a possible return. Sonny lamented to Carly that Dev made it half way around the world to find him and now this, For now, based on Arbib’s own words he is no longer on General Hospital so viewers must go with the flow until further notice. With all the rumors and spoilers alerts going around regarding William deVry and Emme Rylan being fired from General Hospital, not one thing was said to imply that Arbib was leaving the show. There was a spoiler on Friday saying that a young person would die in the explosion. Through the process of elimination over the weekend many viewers suspected it was Dev and they were correct. On Tuesday in the aftermath of the bomb at the floating Rib, no one could find Jason or Danny. Later, Stone Cold appeared alone, outside the burned out building. The camera kept showing Danny’s hat as if to imply that he had perished. Jason finally told everyone that his son was safe at the Quartermaine mansion playing with little Lila.

So much time and attention was put into the character of Dev and now he’s gone. He got out of jail by saying he knew Sonny, and Brando began to bind with him as a father. Joss, Trina, and Cameron helped him to fit in at school and become more Americanized in his behavior. Devlin Cervi-Corbin was growing on the fans and viewers were waiting to see if he ended up with Joss or Trina. It was both shocking and sad and seemed to come out of nowhere when he died. General Hospital viewers were not as invested in Dustin who many suspected would leave once Dante arrived. Now there is the issue of Lulu mouthing “I love you” to her former spouse before collapsing.

If Lulu dies and Julian Jerome is dealt with this means that General Hospital will have aced 4 characters at once. Two of them, Julian and Lulu were beloved long term Pory Charles residents and Dev was just beginning to find his place in Pory Charles. Now there is the issue of the forged diary entry made by the teen. Some fans are wondering why General Hospital had Julian and Devlin do despicable things before cutting them from the cast? Fans would have preferred to have the last memories be something fond as with Dustin proposing to Lulu and her saying she still loves Dante.

Coming on the heels of Mike Corbin’s long drawn out death, Port Charles will be in mourning during the holidays. The ABC daytime drama will air an encore of the December 23,2019 episode on Thursday where Finn was Ebeneexer Scrooge. On Friday the shoe will be preempted by sports. Viewrs are expecting the annual Quartermaine pizza feast on Monday but with all of these deaths who feels like celebrating? Jane Elliot will return sometime soon so Tracy Q will be around for a while.
