The horror genre has been wildly successful throughout 2022 both in theaters and on various digital platforms. Everything indicates that 2023 will also be a brilliant year for this type of movies, as fans of the genre want to experience more chilling sensations.

Next year will see the release of dozens of horror movies that will scare everyone.

#1.The Exorcist, David Gordon Green

The Exorcist, the iconic horror movie of all time will have its long-awaited reboot in 2023. The challenge will be in charge of the talented filmmaker David Gordon Green, the same director of the last Halloween trilogy. The Exorcist, version 2023, will be a direct sequel to the 1973 film, regardless of the other sequels it has had throughout history.

In the story, actor Odom Jr. will play the father of a possessed child who, desperate for help, goes in search of Chris McNeil, mother of Regan, the demon-possessed girl who was saved by an exorcism.

The Exorcist opens on October 13, 2023.

M3GAN is a beautiful robotic doll that becomes the best friend of Cady, an 8-year-old orphan girl. The problem is that M3GAN protects Cady to the point of exaggeration, no matter who falls, no matter who dies.

The truth behind this M3GAN is that a robotic toy company decides to use advanced artificial intelligence to develop a realistic doll, programmed to emotionally bond with an orphaned girl. However, the doll's intelligence will cause it to become overprotective of her, with a terrifying result.

M3GAN will be released on January 6, 2023.

Scream, one of the most successful horror sagas of all time, is back to scare new generations. Scream 6 will take place in New York City, as the survivors of the previous movie want to start a new stage in their lives. However, Ghostface will follow them there to continue killing. Scream 6 will star fashionable actress Jenna Ortega, who shined in the series Wednesday. Neve Campbell will not be in the movie because she didn't like the proposal she was given.

So far it is known that Scream 6 will be the most violent and bloody version of the saga.

Scream 6 will be released on March 31, 2023.

#4.Evil Dead Rise, Lee Cronin

After four movies and a TV series, the terrifying Evil Dead saga will be back to scare everyone. Evil Dead Rise will not be set in a cabin in the woods, but in an apartment in the city of Los Angeles. The film tells the story of two estranged sisters whose reunion is interrupted by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a battle for survival as they face the scariest version of family imaginable.

In essence, all of the films in the Evil Dead saga are about ordinary people overcoming extraordinarily terrifying situations by drawing on a great inner strength.

The successful actor Patrick Wilson makes his directorial debut in Insidious: Fear The Dark, a film in which he also stars. The fifth installment of the Insidious saga picks up the story of the Lambert family 13 years after the events of 2010.

The father of the family, Josh Lambert, heads east to drop his son Dalton off at an idyllic college. However, Dalton's college dream turns into a nightmare when repressed demons from his past suddenly return to haunt them both. Dalton will return to terrifying experiences in both the world of the living and the dead.

Insidious 5 opens on July 7, 2023.
