Who else is excited about this game? I am! Knowing this one is coming out around the same time as the PlayStation 5. This is going to be one great Holiday Season. I wanted a PlayStation 5 before knowing there was going to be another Ratchet and Clank game. That just adds to how much more I want it. Now I definitely have to get one after watching some of the gameplay available on YouTube. This is one game I cannot pass up. To put it merely, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart looks absolutely amazing.
It feels like it was just yesterday that they came out with a Ratchet and Clank movie based on the games. Ha, they made a game that was based on the move, which was based on the games. It almost sounds like an overused plot twist in a soap opera. Speaking of that game, I noticed many similarities in the PlayStation 4 version versus the original PlayStation 2. There were a couple of differences, but not many.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will act as both a stand-alone game and a continuation of Ratchet and Clank. This time Ratchet and Clank will have to travel through different dimensions to stop a villainous emperor. From what I saw on YouTube, it'll be jumping through rifts in the middle of the fighting. This will be an exciting challenge.
I'm so tickled that this game series is still getting new games. I loved all of them on PlayStation 2. I just recently played A Quest for Booty on PlayStation Now. Seriously the game is that short? It feels like it wasn't even a whole game. It was so short. I really did like the whole cursed pirates' theme, though.
I wasn't expecting to see Quark again in A Crack in Time. I vaguely remember him completely losing it and going feral. Looks like he's back to normal. He was way more entertaining, acting like a wild animal. Quark hasn't changed at all. He's still a coward who acts like he's the greatest thing since indoor plumbing. We all know Ratchet is the real hero.
With a series as vast as Ratchet and Clank, I love different parts of all the games. Ratchet Deadlocked has to be at the top of the list. You see Clank in this game, but he isn't really apart of it. Getting to use all of the different machines throughout Ratchet Deadlocked is pretty awesome.
For me, it was a pretty even toss-up for what parts of the games were the most difficult. Once you get the hang of the overboard races, those are pretty easy. I never did get real good at the hoverbike races. Flying a space ship and those types of battles, I'm not sure how I got through them. They're so much easier in A Crack in Time. Man, time is so messed up in that game.
I want to mention the bosses as well. There are so many of them, I'm not sure what ones were my favorite verses least favorite. The one with giant Clank just popped into my mind, but that one wasn't bad. That one and the others you come across do bring their own challenges to the games.
I defiantly can't wait for the PlayStation 5 and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. I will be so writing a review of this one. The footage looks fantastic, and the graphics look fantastic. Any changes made to Ratchet were pretty minimal, which I'm glad about. He did need a little bit of an update, and the creators definitely didn't go overboard with it.
