10 Fun Board Games to Play

Entering the world of intense and actually fun board games opens you up to fun other worlds and scenarios that can test your mind and let you enjoy the company of others who also want to play. These are some of the funnest board games that I’ve ever played! Note: I will not be telling you how to play and things like that because that’s what the instructions are for!

Space Base

An intergalactic space game where you roll dice to determine how your turn is played. The goal is to get 40 points and you get there by getting cards that can help you get more points or the ability to get more money, and to outwit your opponents by getting the better cards or the cards that they were going after. This is a fun game to play if you love the sci-fi world! I’ve played with four players each time and it is very enjoyable! We played the expansion pack as well, but I was never good enough to make it. The people in my group who did thought it was a fun addition!

Azul

This game is very simple and easy to play, but you have to make sure you are keeping an eye out on what you need on your board because you might get screwed! The goal of the game is to fill up certain parts of your board, but you want to make sure your squares touch because that’s where you get the most points! I’ve won this game a few times, but sometimes your friends can screw you over and take your tiles and then you’ll get negative points! It’s simple, easy to play, and very fun!

Wing Span

If you’re into birds this game is for you! With an added objective trying to get the best birds on your placard is the way to win the game with a few other things to help you get there! This game is very fun and light! I played with four people and I’d say it lasts about an hour? Give or take a few! Out of all the games on here I’d say it’s my favorite! Along with the theme being about birds each card tells you something special about the birds- a fun fact if you will!

Terraforming Mars

Out of all these games, this on is probably my husband’s favorite and Space Base. You are literally trying to conquer mars! You have to follow a sequence of patterns and plays to get your cubes on a place on Mars, but you have to make sure you are trying to put it on the right spot!

Scythe

It’s been a long time since I’ve played this game and I only played it once, but you are trying to conquer as much land as possible with your mecha’s. It takes awhile to get your mecha’s out there and conquer but if you understand how you can get them out fast and conquer that helps and you might win!

Photosynthesis

Picking your favorite season, you get to grow trees and figure out how to get the moving sun to hit your trees and get points! Starting from little seeds you have to grow your tree three sizes! Depending on the size of your tree depends on the amount of points you get. A lot of these games you can get screwed over and this game is one of them! Someone could steal your spot and it could be the one spot you needed! Very fun to play though!

Sagrada

This is a fun, easy game that you can play with anyone! You are creating a stain glass window with the colorful dice. The rules are pretty straight-forward and you have an objective to try and help you win! If other’s don’t take the dice you need first! You can play this game with 1 to 4 players! So you can play it by yourself if you get really board. (Pun intended)

Rising Sun

I’ve only played this game once, but the goal is to conquer land with your soldiers! It’s an Asian style game and the art on the cards is so impressive! The characters are very fun too! It’s a very strategic game, more than the other’s on here I would say because you have to do many actions before you can really do anything to conquer lands so you have to understand that you need to work fast!

Twilight Imperium

So, I’ve actually never played this game before... BUT, my brother-in-law and husband have and let me tell you that it is a long, intense game. If you and your friends are into long playing and war strategies this game is for you. There’s about a 30-minute or more tutorial online. I watched half of it and man was it intense! There are a lot of things going on! When my husband played this he started playing in the morning sometime and came home sometime in the early morning! If you decide to play this game, get a big table and snacks!

Treasure Hunter

I recently just played this game and it is a very fun game! Our saying of it though was, “This game just happens to you.” Sometimes you may not get the cards you want and are screwed when picking up the tokens. The goal of the game is to get the most coins, but sometimes you might end up getting negative tokens that you have to add to your final score. Picking the best cards for your strategy is the best option, but be careful because you might not think you need the highest cards. Good luck and may the cards be in your favor!
