Missile False Alarm is Misdirection
What a nightmare! Who could even imagine a warning going off saying there was an incoming missile and that is was not a drill. Could it get any worse? Obviously, if it was real it would be worse but it turned out to be a false alarm or was it.
Richard Van SteenbergPublished 6 years ago in FuturismThe Last Jedi: Too Much or Too Little?
The above title, I must confess, is a falsehood; The Last Jedi is not quite as bad as Hayden Christensen in the infamous romantic comedy, The Attack of the Clones. That being said, Rian Johnson’s attempt to write and direct a Star Wars movie has numerous conspicuous problems, and its efforts to differentiate the sequel trilogy (ST) from the Star Wars of yore consistently come off as awkward and nonsensical. The more serious issues, however, stem from the script, as the more conservative, primarily plot-driving dialogue of the original three movies has been replaced with blatant cliche and frequent attempts at humor, which often appear even in the most intensely serious moments of the movie. A few thoughts:

In order to solve the ET and UFO phenomenon , stricter measures need to be taken. When you go back and look at ET History
Richard Van SteenbergPublished 6 years ago in FuturismWhat Makes A.I. Intellectual?
Growing up, I've always placed psychology as a category separate from all the "hard science," some call it "soft" science but as cheesy as it sounds, I'd rather call it future science.
Why Are UFOs Called Volutes?
Notice the three Volutes in the three-ship Tactical Vee formation above? To most EA ( EA rthlings) the picture is of three

I think we could all agree that if someone is going to speak or write on something, then they should at least know what they're talking about, right? Well, a couple of months ago, I wrote piece for Futurism.media about how time travel to the past is almost here and that probably everything you knew about time travel is wrong because most physicists talking about it don't work on the problem. Well, guess what's happened since? I've made more progress on my own research, which is putting me within shooting range of hitting a 2019 mark for my goal of actually doing time travel to the past (more on that in another piece) and I discovered the perfect example of what I wrote about in previous article. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce to you "the Spaceman", Paul Sutter, an astrophysicist from the Ohio State University who is also the chief scientist (as if they really need one) for COSI, a kiddie science center in Columbus, OH. Paul has a video and wrote an article for Space.com on time travel under its Expert Voices op-eds and was unwitting enough to prove EVERYTHING I had talked about before. Trust me, he is AMAZING and proves conclusively that he's no time travel expert. Just for convenience sake, I'll deal with what he says in the video, first.

Phrenology: the study of the skull in association with personality traits. It's straight-up pseudoscience. But it's amazing what people will tell themselves to justify their own cruelty.
Russell BrummerPublished 6 years ago in FuturismDo Extra Terrestrials Use Ecronyms to Communicate?
The first question you have to be asking yourself is what in the world is an ecronym? The start of trying to understand what an ecronym requires you to understand the possibility that
Richard Van SteenbergPublished 6 years ago in FuturismPermaculture
This week was a little quiet on the food knowledge gathering front, so, unfortunately, this post won’t be as bright and shiny as others. However, I would like to talk about permaculture and agriculture. To set the stage somewhat, one of my friends has started to grow things in his garden—from chilies to squash—and he has the aim to grow everything he needs next season. I applaud this; self-sufficiency and off-the-grid living is one of the things I am most interested in. So, he was interested in a film night which is part and parcel of the London Permaculture Group, and asked me if I would like to come along. We wound up in Café Cairo in Brixton on a frozen (ever so slightly wet) Thursday evening, the film was to be screened in the tent area, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t take my coat off for most of it! Due to an AV error, the group never quite got around to seeing the film (which is called Tomorrow) but we saw a few clips and I picked up enough information to investigate the subject further by myself.
Julia ShorttPublished 6 years ago in FuturismWhere Is My Mind's Eye?
For a long time, I thought I was just a normal everyday human being. Turns out, I'm not even that. It never occurred to me that I was missing out on some spectacular part of living, until recently (after bingeing Sherlock on Netflix) I began to question peoples' brains and way of thinking. I was enthralled with the idea of having a "mind palace" where you could store your memories in an organized structure for future reference. I've always had troubles with my memories. I rely prominently on photos to jog my mind and help me to recall certain situations I've been in, or even the faces of people I know when I can't seem to remember exactly what they look like. So because of this, you can understand my interest in the mind palace. I decided to look into it to try and understand how it's done and maybe, just maybe, begin to train my own brain to store memories in an orderly fashion.
Outside InPublished 6 years ago in FuturismWhy Aliens Rule (WAR) Earth
If you mention to someone there is a possibility Humanoid Extra Terrestrials Live Among Us (HETLAU), most have never even heard of it, much less given it any thought. Most will immediately discount it as delusional or schizophrenic thought. Of the few that will ponder the possibilities, it seems difficult to believe something of that magnitude could be kept secret. They will want to look to the powerful and seeming intellectual leaders of society for indications from them this might be true.
Richard Van SteenbergPublished 6 years ago in FuturismWhy They Haven't Blown Us up Yet?
Some people who call themselves "starseed" are a touch brainwashed. Don’t live in the glow of your specialness, do something. I plan on running for office. I also want to actually go to city council meetings at some point. We are here to do something about the way the world is, to prepare it for the future, and for first contact. We are not here to be lazy, lay-about do nothings. I will start by getting myself onto the work 2 future board and eventually into becoming a district 10 representative. I have to start going to those meetings so I learn about the position, and get trained by the current guy. I’m currently looking at a website that features opportunities on how to get involved with your community. Getting involved is exactly what I plan on doing this year.
