I’m not a Buddhist but I do love studying Eastern thought and particularly Buddhism. For me, as a philosophy it seems to have a profound understanding of human psychology. The methods of recognising how our own conscious mind works and harnessing it to manifest more loving and serene mind states to me seems to be of crucial importance at this juncture in human history.

Why is this important when discussing the nature of thinking? Well, because it is this very same concept that has bought about the current state of what we view as right and what we view as wrong. Our choice isn’t fully based on reason and fact but similarly on our emotional nature. And this is what gives use our understanding of what is right and what is wrong. From the facile to the laborious decisions. Our emotional views play a role just as important as our logical view when it comes to enabling policies. Now of course the main obvious truth about this concept, is that if it is true then it means that no one can ever be right.

The German thinker wrote in the prologue to Nietzsche's Thus sprach Zarathustra that man is something that must be surpassed. It had been a month since his first trial where his nerves got the best of him and resulted in a miserable fail. Just the thought of him failing the written exam for the second time a week after news of his father’s death was not only depressing, but intensified his headache ever more. It was the frustration he felt at always getting in his own way. He was not a stupid man. In fact, his father spent a fortune for his education, implanting him into boarding school in Connecticut at the age of 11. Though when his headaches began only a few years later, book work became much more difficult.
