Libra The Scales
I am a Libra on the cusp of Scorpio. Star date: Oct 22nd. I like balance, harmony, no drama, and beauty. I am sensitive and intuitive. I dislike one on one conflict. On the cusp of Scorpio means I am supposed to like sex, but then again who doesn't. I thought most of the people I admired were Libra's too. I was mistaken. I admire people throughout the zodiacal spectrum. The exact dates and times of the various signs according to the best astrologers are approximations. Approximations with what amount of error you ask? Is it a little bitty error? Like the one that caused the spaceship The Challenger to crash. Or was it a huge error like the one that caused the sinking and multiple deaths on the infamous Titanic. To the scientific minded this kind of “approximation” puts the kibosh on astrology as a science. That being said zodiacal star lore has been present in every culture right up to the present day including the watered down nondescript astrological readings in many newspapers and magazines. A friend of mine's father worked for a newspaper writing the astrological section. He essentially made up the forecasts and switched them around periodically. I believe astrology started out with a foundation based in reality. As the zodiac is a part of the reality of nature. I am a strong proponent that all of nature provides instructing signs for discerning observers. The zodiac this instruction maybe more than others. It stands to reason that time and place have an effect on the human being when we look at it logically. A person born in Hoboken, New Jersey will have a profoundly different outlook, personality, and psyche than a person born in let's say Balkhash, Karaganda Region in Kazakhstan.

CON206 hoped no one had heard it—the empty clang of metal being struck by his backhoe. But before he could jump down from the cab to see what he had hit, the foreman was already out of his chair, wheezing from the effort. “Scraps, did you bust my rig again? I told you I’d trade you out if you couldn’t handle the controls,” the foreman yelled. Scraps—206 winced at the name. Out of habit, he glanced in the side mirror at the gaping hole where one of his eyes should be. The city had impounded it during an update session years ago, leaving an uncomfortable snarl of wires exposed, making it glaringly obvious that he was not a Bio. 206 bent the mirror away, opened the cab door, and jumped down to meet the foreman at the dig site.

Start 2/24/2021 21:25 9:25 PM Est The instructions are crystal clear. Why did I even go to that meeting!? Well, because I need the money that’s why! I definitely need the money. My family needs this money. It's a matter of survival at this point. There are hardly any jobs left. We are running out of food and fuel. I had to go. I should have known it was too good to be true. I was willing to sacrifice much to earn this money but going back in!? I’ve been out for 12 years now. I thought for certain that chapter was over and done with.

“Gibberish. It’s just plain gibberish!” I shouted out loud with a heavy deafening tone. Did I sound confident enough? I had no idea what I just said. “He’s a bit disoriented,” said a humanoid shaped figure in the blurry shadows. It took me a second, but I realized this person looked like a machine more than anything. I was just born, so it makes sense that I’m a bit out of it, I guess. I’m not exactly sure about anything at the moment. At least it seemed like my birth was within the range of normality. My vocabulary was enhanced, and I understood my language, along with all the other basic functions of communication. It didn’t take long for me to remember all of life’s fundamental knowledge. Does it even count as remembering if you never knew it was there?

The question was simple on its face: is the universe deterministic or probabilistic? But it had split his Philosophy of Physics students into two irate groups. Usually the students tried to retain some sense of civility. The smartest one would give their opinion and the rest would follow suit in an attempt to avoid looking foolish. But not this class, these students had both curiosity and passion.

Avalos Compound. 10:47am: May 7th, 2036. Ava’s Birthday. “Soran darling, are you awake?” A soothing and compassionate voice filled the air eagerly greeting her daughter. “Today's a very special day, Dear! You have progressed faster than expected and are now ready to learn the more advanced techniques of the Avalos family. I'm so proud of you!!!” Her mom excitedly continued not even waiting for a response. Meanwhile, tiny Soran was cozily tucked under her feather filled comforter fast asleep on her memory foam mattress. She usually crawled into bed around 9 am from her intense gaming sessions.

The Disney era of Star Wars promised a lot of different things. One of them was a Star Wars themed section of the parks. In 2015, fans started looking forward to the completion of what was dubbed "Star Wars Land" in many circles. Eventually, it got its own official name, which was Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The one at Disneyland in Anaheim, California opened up on May 31, 2019, and the one at Disney World in Orlando, Florida opened on August 29, 2019. There were even a few books and comics released around this time that tied into Galaxy's Edge, feeding into the hype.

I'm a crab. Makes sense, I suppose. I had a hermit crab when I was a kid, so I guess it's only fitting that I identify as a crab later in life, right?

There were beasts—and then there were monsters. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference. In a world so crisscrossed with magic and its after-effects, there could be some fog in the lens that made it difficult to determine who was friend or foe, predator or prey.
