A Sexy Surprise At The Museum

The night shift as a security guard at the museum was boring, but it suited John just fine. He enjoyed the silence, got to read more often, and he got to appreciate art from closer without having to evade droves of tourists.

John was a single guy that just wanted to get by. He had ambitions like everyone else, but they were on the back burner for the time being. He took online lessons with the hopes of being a software developer one day, but he was in no rush.

The young man didn’t have many coworkers, and he barely ever saw anyone since they only needed one security guard for the night shift. He would stay back a few minutes each morning at the end of his transition to hang out with the guards that were coming in. The day shift needed three of them because of the visitors.

During one of those morning talks, he found out about the museum’s new acquisition: the king’s gem.

“Get ready, John,” said Paul, one of the day-time guards.

“For what?”

“That fancy gem is coming later tonight. The boss will be there to receive it, and then he’ll go home.”

“Oh, the one that they dug out from that tomb in Egypt?”

“Yeah, that one.”

The men talked for a while until John departed. The delivery went without a hiccup that night. His boss signed off on it, and they installed the gem in a particular glass case that they prepared for it beforehand.

Other than that, his night went like any other. He went to his desk until it was time for his first perimeter check. He saw someone and immediately ran towards the figure, but it disappeared before he got there. Did he imagine things? He was afraid that was the case, but he had been sleeping and eating correctly; maybe it was time to see a doctor. He checked everywhere just in case.

He went back to his desk where the security cameras were. He scanned the whole museum, jumping from one screen to the other, but everything was serene. He stayed there until it was time to walk the perimeter again.

“All right, John. You got this.”

He smacked himself on the cheeks and went on his way. Everything seemed in place, and he double-checked everything he could think of: doors, windows, vents. He started to doubt himself; maybe he imagined the woman.

John got to the recently acquired gem and stood there, appreciating the stone.

“Truly beautiful,” he said to nobody in particular, “things like this is what help make this job great.”

They installed a whole new security mechanism around the stone. By far, it was the most expensive and unique acquisition that the museum obtained in the last few years, and it was closely guarded. Except for some minor vandalism and disorderly conduct now and then, there was no crime around those parts, but you can never be too sure.

“It is beautiful.”

John turned his head around so fast that he almost lost his footing. A young woman was standing behind him. Her outfit looked like something you’d see in a movie about ancient Egypt; a long blue dress with ornaments and jewels.

“Who are you? How did you get in here?”

“I’m a friend. I mean no harm.”

“Lady, I’m serious.”

John reached for his radio to report the incident, but the woman vanished. He stood there in disbelief. She left without a trace. He continued with his perimeter check and even went through it twice, but there was no sign of the woman.

He concluded that he was losing his mind and would book an appointment with a doctor in the morning.

He went back to his desk and checked the security cameras. Empty.

“What the fuck was that even?” he asked himself.

He continued reading, but the thought of that woman didn’t escape his mind. She had caramel skin and black hair, and those golden ornaments on her arms and neck complimented her nicely.

The hours passed, and he was due for another walk around the museum. He strolled, checking every corner with his flashlight to avoid leaving any potential hiding spot for the mysterious woman. He reached the newly acquired gem again and couldn’t help but admire it for a few minutes. He checked the area beforehand, and everything was clear, so he allowed himself those few minutes of admiration.

He smelled her before she spoke. He turned his head, and there she was again, standing behind him. He couldn’t be hallucinating… right?

“Are you the protector of the gem?” she asked.

John hesitated for a moment. She didn’t look like a robber, but there was no logical way for her to have entered the museum, and on top of that, she looked like she was coming from a costume party. He was good at reading people, and he didn’t get any bad vibes from her, so he played along.

“You could say that, yes. I’m the night security guy.”

“I was hoping that you were. You seem to like the gem.”

“I do. Why?”

The woman slowly closed the distance between them. Her perfume was terrific, but he couldn’t pinpoint the smell.

“Because I could only entrust the gem to someone without greed in their heart.”

“And who are you to say that you’d ‘entrust’ it to someone else?”

“I’m the original guardian of the gem.”

The young man arched an eyebrow. The possibility that she escaped from a mental facility popped into his mind. He scanned her again, head to toe. Her facial features didn’t look familiar. Maybe she was a foreigner visiting a family member, or perhaps she heard about the gem, and she wanted to see it up close and had developed some weird fantasy about being its guardian.

“Are you going to tell me how you got in here now?” he asked.

“I came with it,” she said, pointing at the stone.

John rubbed his brow, frustrated. The woman noticed it and continued.

“I’m the spirit of the guardian. The pharaoh himself appointed me, but it is only at night when I can manifest myself. I couldn’t prevent those people from taking it from the tomb.”

“Prove it.”

He tried to be more eloquent, but he was tired of indulging in that woman’s delusions. He crossed his arms and waited.

“Very well,” she said.

The woman opened her arms and put her hands towards the ceiling. She closed her eyes and muttered something that John couldn’t hear. Her feet slowly got separated from the ground as he levitated a few inches from it. John’s jaw almost hit the floor with that paranormal display.

“Satisfied?” she asked.

He couldn’t articulate anything, so he nodded. She went back to the ground with the same elegance and walked towards him; he didn’t reach for his radio this time. The woman walked with confidence towards him, and when she was up close, he noticed that her hard nipples were poking through her clothes.

“You’ll be the protector of the gem from now on. I entrust you with that honor,” she said.

“All right, I’ll protect it.”

“Do you swear it?”

“I do.”

The woman smiled for the first time that night.

“There’s a ritual to seal the deal.”
