Grandmother Nanfoin's Cane
This happened in Cameroon in the town of Garoua where a man lived, his wife with
his three children. All of their children were boys. Georges, the father of the children wanted
that his sons visit their grandfather from time to time. He wanted to leave their sons for a
months with their grandfather to spend the holidays. It was on Saturday that Ceddric, Eric, and
John were going to visit their grandfathers. Their mother had baked them a vanilla cake for
let them take it and go with it to their grandfather.
Georges takes the three of them to their grandfather's. They got to know their
grandfather and tasted the cake that their mother had prepared after the lunch they had
had with their grandfather. Grandfather Chongwain had a slice of cake. He was looking for a
room where her sons went to sleep. He sent them to a room where there were two beds
bunks and a bed for the last boy. This room used to be the sons room
of grandfather Chongwain. In this room, there was a cane. We couldn't tell
that Grandfather Chongwain used this cane since he was not handicapped and we do not
never seen with that. Currently this cane belonged to Grandmother Nanfoin who was
died before the birth of children.
Grandma was disabled and she couldn't walk. This cane had powers
magical. Grandma never knew. "What could that cane do?". She
could take people to any country. In the new room of three
boys, Cédric, Eric, and John, the three boys were putting away their things in their closet. After that, they left the room and decided to play outside. Grandfather
read his newspaper outside on the terrace and watched his grandsons. The three were playing
soccer. They were having fun. Grandfather had decided to barbecue for dinner. He
wanted to prepare skewers with braised fish. He started doing it
afternoon at three o'clock. His sons had stopped playing. They took a shower and
got dressed and then decided to and watch television. Grandfather was cooking
on coal. He had also cooked fried plantains for himself and his sons. He took all his
time to make the four braised fish and the skewers. There were also sticks of
cassava he had taken out of the refrigerator.
His three sons were laughing at the cartoon Kirikoo and the witch. grandfather their
brought the fried plantains he had made with their braised fish. He also put on
their plates for each three cassava sticks.
The children loved the food. It was a real delight. They were surprised that their
grandfather was a man who knew how to cook well. Their grandfather also ate. They
weren't at the table eating but sitting where they wanted. They spent the whole night
watch television. Grandpa Chongwain went to his bedroom to sleep. The children too
went to sleep. At night, when the children slept, the cane moved.
No one had heard the noise the cane made. They were sound asleep. The
cane had changed places and had gone to the side of the geographical map. She looked at all
the countries on the map. She was thinking of traveling. The next morning the children were awake
and hadn't thought about where the cane was placed.
They were starting to shower and get dressed. They loved vacations at home
grandpa even though it was the first day they had started the vacation in earnest. They
had breakfast and decided to play hide and seek outside. They were changing the game
and walked around the town of Garoua. They visited the stores. It was really
amusing!
Grandpa Chongwain knew those sons were outside because they asked him for the
permission before going outside. The day was going well! Grandfather had cooked foofoo with vegetables. These vegetables were called "Huckleberry". It was for lunch. He
had kept the vegetables in plastic and the foofoo in aluminum foil. When
meal time will come, he will heat up the vegetables and the children's foofoo.
