They felt they had discovered the ideal location for their weekend escape as soon as they spotted the cottage. The five friends had been preparing this vacation for months, and they were eager to get away for a few days from the pressures of their normal life.

The cabin was ancient and rustic, and their weight made the front porch groan. Two bedrooms with what appeared to be comfy mattresses were located inside, along with a modest kitchen and a lovely living area with a fireplace. The floor was carpeted, while the walls were constructed from wood.

The group had a sense of calm as they settled in. Something about the forest's quiet caught my attention. It helped them put their anxieties and fears behind them. They lit a fire in the fireplace, cracked open a bottle of wine, and settled down to converse with one another.

Yet as the night went on, they began to notice odd things happening in their immediate surroundings. The first sign that anything was trying to enter the room was a banging sound emanating from the walls. Suddenly, they heard what sounded like walking outside the cabin in the pitch black.

They initially attempted to reject these noises as the result of their imagination, but they were unable to do so for very long. The footsteps got closer and the banging got louder. In an effort to understand what was going on, the group gathered in a small circle.

At that point, they overheard a voice. They could hardly make out the words in a whisper that was so soft. "Exit," it commanded. Before it's too late, leave.

In fear, the pals exchanged looks with one another. They were unsure about what to do. Should they leave the cabin and dash into the night, or should they stay and deal with whatever awaited them outside?

The cabin door slammed open as they paused. Shrouded in shadow, a man entered. With lengthy arms and jagged claws, it was towering and scary. In an effort to flee, the gang yelled and rushed in all directions.

Young Emily, one of the pals, sprinted into the bedroom and shut the door behind her. She could hear the animal snarling and clawing at the door from outside. She was stuck and helpless.to go.

She saw something weird about the place as she cowered in the corner. Strange symbols painted in what appeared to be blood covered the walls. While Emily was unable to interpret them, she was aware that they were a warning of something sinister and evil.

She prayed for the monster to leave as she closed her eyes, but it just became more agitated. The door started to break beneath the weight of the louder scratching.

When Emily looked down, she saw a little silver key on the dresser. She was unsure of its purpose but felt she had to give it a shot. She took hold of the key and put it in the lock.

Unexpectedly, the door opened, exposing a hidden passageway behind the wall. WithoutEmily entered after some contemplation and shut the door behind her.

She hardly had enough light to see where she was going in the darkness. Yet, she could hear the animal's claws slapping against the door as it attempted to open it. In her haste to get away, she ran faster.

Emily discovered a little chamber with a pedestal in the middle at the end of the tunnel. A book that was bound with antiquated leather was on the pedestal. While Emily was unable to read the title, she was aware of its significance.

In an effort to reach the cottage in time to see if her pals were still alive, she grabbed the book. When she came, she discovered them fighting the thing while huddled together in the living room.

The necessary action was clear to Emily. She started.
