Moochie was an odd calf, quite whiny and rather needy was he. His mother raised him as she saw fit, but not all that well indeed.

Moochie grew to love attention and enjoyed gifts-but bought things cheap. No respect for the Higher Power or other mammals had he.

Now the Higher Power, the Willing Wolves, tried to control the Taiga Land, through fairness and love of all mammals and man. Because of this, a system was set for all the moose around, and those in need of a berry tree were given a fair share for free.

To qualify as a "needy moose" one had to have no horns. Now Moochie felt this quite unfair for he was needy too; and though he had both horns intact, the points were but a few.

So as it went, Moochie Moose set out against the Willing Wolves and concocted a plan to try his hand in free berry trees and such.

He bellowed aloud for his best friend in town and pleaded for a helping hoof.

For Monty Moose his horns were lost, so qualified did he; so Moochie asked what he could do to get a berry tree.

Monty answered with a chuckle, "Silly Moochie, you can't have horns, and I see you have, so truthfully, I don't see how you could get a berry tree for free."

Moochie stomped his hairy hoof and whined, "But my points are but a few, I think that counts for something, don't you?"

Monty answered with a grin, "Moochie, you just want free food. Why don't you try to earn it dude?"

This made Moochie quite upset as he answered argumentatively, "Well you get free food and that doesn't seem fair to me!"

The two departed, Moochie broken hearted, and never spoke again. That's when Moochie knew what he must do to get that well deserved free food.

He called in a meeting with the head of the wolf pack and asked if they would give him a little extra slack. He presented his case and made his base on the few points his horns did have.

"Please Mr. Wolf," he said in a sickly little voice, "It's hard for me to grasp the tree with these dinky little points."

The Willing Wolves discussed it and decided generously that poor Moochie Moose was indeed eligible for the use of the Needy Moose Tree Plan.

Now Moochie lives rather high on the hog and eats all the food he can. And surprisingly, his points did grow...but no one needs to know.
