Ella and Mabel are two sisters in their twenties. Ella is a twenty-one-year-old bright, genuine and easy-going. At the same time, Mabel is twenty-two, rebellious, stubborn and introverted. Each is enrolled in a different program at college. Ella studied fashion design, and Mabel studied criminology. On-campus, the girls, go to class and walk around during the day. As Ella sits in the back, she pulls out a pen and jots down anything the professor says.

Meanwhile, Mabel is daydreaming through her criminology course. Both courses were quite interesting. Perhaps Mabel needs to pay attention instead of daydreaming. Within a couple of hours, Ella and Mabel finish their classes and take a shortcut through the dark, gloomy forest of Rose Lake. As the girls walk through the woods, they cannot help but think something is wrong. As they walk deeper and deeper into the woods, they look behind them as if someone is following them. Ella trips over a log and falls over tall grass as the girls walk through the forest. As Mabel helps her up, they walk more profoundly into the woods. This shortcut took longer than expected, so Ella wondered if they had passed through this area before. Mabel felt Ella was losing her train of thought. Ella told Mabel to stop playing around and pay attention to her surroundings. Mabel wanted to get out of the forest, it was getting dark, and their car was on the other side of campus. They thought walking through the woods would be fun, but the girls were desperate to leave. While walking through the forest, the girls turn right and then go, and on their right side, there is a big door or vault. Both Ella and Mabel stumbled upon it. Mabel glanced at Ella and was curious to see what was inside the vault. Mabel told her to stay far away from it. Ella ignored her. She was curious to see what was inside. A few years ago, she and her guy friend, Jasper, had been here before. He was a twenty-four-year-old man who was charming, witty, and adventurous. When Ella and Jasper visited this forest in the past, they never found a vault. Ella wondered why there was a vault now but not before. She considered going up to it, but she chickened out. Mabel said she would go check it out. Ella wanted Jasper to join her in the forest. Mabel told her to leave Jasper out of it. Mabel even told Ella to stay back and that she would go inside. Ella disagreed and wanted to accompany her. Ella said, if you're going in, I'm doing it too.

Ella texts Jasper to let him know what's going on. Ella and Mabel walk up the hill and over the tall grass. After walking for a few minutes, they arrive at the vault. Mabel and Ella reach the vault but have no idea what to do. Within moments, some mist and fog surrounded the locker. It frightened Ella and Mabel, so they banged on the door as if someone were inside. The door wouldn't open, and the fog was getting thicker. Suddenly, the door opens on its own. Ella and Mabel stare at each other in disbelief.

As Ella runs for the door, Mabel tells her to stop being a baby and get inside. She told Mabel that she wanted this, so go in. Ella said she had changed her mind. Mabel rolled her eyes and shook her head. Ella suggested they go back down the hill. The sky was getting dark quickly. It seemed odd to Mabel and Ella. They did not understand what was going on.

Moreover, the girls had no idea what was inside the vault; anything could be inside. In Ella's mind, the first thing she thought was, what if they found a dead body? Mabel thought Ella was making things up. Ella told Mabel we'd go together. While deep in the forest, with no escape, they discovered a vault. As a result, I guess the girls made up their minds and entered the vault.

As they walk inside the vault, Ella's phone starts to beep. Ella explains to her that it's Jasper, and he's on the way. Mabel was curious as to why she texted him. Jasper and Mabel don't get along. They fight like siblings. Since high school, Jasper and Ella have been friends, and they became close. Mabel, however, is unable to stand Jasper due to his popularity. The funny thing is, Jasper attends Mabel's criminology class. The class he takes is the same as Mabel's, but he is a year ahead of her. Ella replies to Jasper that they are lost in the woods and need help getting out. They also want to check out this vault in the forest. Jasper replies with emojis and texts Ella back. While Ella was texting, Mabel was already inside the vault. The door suddenly closes before Ella can get in. Mabel yells at Ella to hurry up. Ella falls to the ground as the creaky door closes behind her. Mabel helps her up, and they walk inside. The vault was pitch black inside, so Mabel turned on the flash on her phone and used it as a flashlight.

Now that the girls are inside, they can see several rooms within the vault as they walk through it. All of the rooms held something mysterious. When they checked each room, they found papers and books. As the girls continued to walk down the hall, they noticed the last door at the end. Ella and Mabel went to open the door and realized they needed a key. That's when they turned around. They walked up to the front door, but it was locked. She tells Mabel to stop joking around and open the door. But Mabel didn't do anything. There was no response from the door. Suddenly, the girls heard a voice coming from the other side of the vault. It was Jasper, and he wanted in. Jasper tracked Ella's phone and found them. Ella was pleased to hear Jaspers' voice, and Mabel also welcomed it, although she rolled her eyes. Abruptly the girls realized they were stuck inside with no way out. Jasper tries to open the door from the outside but is unsuccessful. Despite their best efforts, Ella and Mabel could not open the door. Jasper reached for his phone and searched for a vault and a forest near Rose Lake. The legend of the rose lake was little known, and there was some information about a key that would help unlock the mysteries behind the door.

Jasper told the girls to calm down, and he will try to help. Mabel told Jasper not to venture anywhere. When Jasper tries to find his way out of the woods, he ends up at the same spot. He informs Ella and Mabel of the discovery, and both girls freak out. There is a way in, but there is no way out, and something weird is going on. Ella and Mabel try to find out the mystery behind the vault in the woods.

Through text, the girls explain the situation to Jasper, and he replies that they should go to the back door they found. Ella and Mabel decided to go to the back door and try to open it. Jasper told Ella that a key was hidden away in one of the rooms. A key was required to open the back door. Despite their attempts, they were unable to open it. Mabel and Ella walk into the other rooms to find the missing key. When the girls searched each room, they found old broken books, pages torn out, and other unnecessary objects. Ella told Mabel they needed to find the key to that back door. It was too much for Ella, and she wanted to leave. Mabel urges her to calm down and take a deep breath. As Mabel walked around the room, one book stood out to the girls. On one of the pages of the book, Ella discovered the key hidden away inside of the books. Suddenly Mabel screamed that she had found the key. When Ella texts Jasper the happy news, the girls run out of the other room and head to the back of the door. Ella put the key in the slot, and before turning the key in the door, Mabel stopped her and was a bit frightened they would discover a dead boy. That wasn't the case; they found gems, gold, and other jewelry in a box on the floor when they opened the door. The girls were amazed to see how many gems were inside the box and where it belonged.

Inside the box, they found more things, so they looked inside the mystery box and discovered a locket inside that said, "To Whoever finds this treasure you are exceptional, please take it, and keep it with you."

The Mystery Box

While reading that, the girls noticed a large mirror in the corner of the room after finding the box. A picture of an old lady was found on the bottom of the box, and it stated that the box belonged to Eleanor Richards.

The mirror looked cool at first, but when Ella touched the mirror, her finger went inside it. It looked like a portal to another world. Mabel and Ella were happy to find Eleanor's mystery box, but at the same time, they were a bit alarmed that they had discovered another dimension.  Mabel wanted to go inside, but Ella refused. Mabel told her to live a little and find out what else was in the mirror. It might have something to do with the mystery box they found. As the girls walked into the mirror, they felt weird, and everything was getting light-headed. Finally, they walked inside and emerged on the other side. Their path had taken them back many hours. Outside, it appeared as if time had played before itself. They noticed two girls walking through the forest on their way around and did not take long to realize that it was Ella and Mabel who had been walking through the woods earlier in the daytime. That was weird and cool at the same time. Ella and Mabel decided not to approach them because they feared something terrible would happen. They can't mess with the past, it could mess up the future. It is clear from the girls' reactions that they have discovered a time travel portal. As a precaution, they rush back through the portal before it closes and as they hold the mystery box with them. Upon exiting the mirror and coming back into the room, they feel this strange energy as they walk through the portal. They were surprised at what they saw. They thought it was so bizarre and absurd and wondered why a portal was in the vault. Ella and Mabel examined more items in the box to discover a connection between the box and the portal. However, they were unable to find any. As they just summarized it, the portal must have belonged to Eleanor Richards back in the 1800s, and she used it to turn back the hands of time. Having done this, she stored the gem inside the vault in hopes that it would be discovered and protected by someone one day. With Ella and Mabel taking care of it, she can finally rest in the knowledge that it is safe in their hands.

The Time Travel Portal

When the girls close up the box, they walk out of the room; the door shut behind them just as they did. Jasper is waiting outside when he notices the sky and moon shining through. Looking into the distance, he could see a trail that led out of the forest. The entrance to the woods appeared before him. The girls can hear Jaspers' voice as he is amazed to see a path out of the woods from the other side of the vault. Jasper tells them to hurry and come outside, and Ella pushes the door, which finally opens. Mabel and Ella hold on to the mystery box as they open the door and walk out, the door closing behind them. Jasper hugs Ella and Mabel before stepping into the distance with the box in their hands. They then tell Jasper about the portal and the box they found. It was a little weird for Jasper, so at the same time, he wanted to go check out the portal, but Ella and Mabel warned him against it. In Elenor Richards' case, her treasure and the secret portal will remain hidden forever.

The end.
