Lazy and the elves under the table

The Japanese are very clean.

The Japanese are very clean. Under their traditional "tatami" (bed), there is always a neat mat. They eat, sit, walk and sleep on the mat, and they have a mysterious feeling for the mat.

They devoutly believe that under the mat lives a large group of angelic goblins, who are the protectors of the Japanese people. They are most afraid of careless children soiling the mat and making them restless. However, there are also some lazy Japanese children.

Legend has it that a long time ago, there was a little slacker in Hokkaido, her name was Sadako.

Sadako's family was wealthy since she was a child. She opened her mouth when she ate, and stretched out her hands when she wore clothes. She was surrounded by a large group of servants all day long. As long as she coughed lightly, the servants would serve her comfortably.

Days passed so fast, until she was seventeen years old, Sadako couldn't even wash her face and hands, and none of the young men around her fell in love with her.

However, it happened that once a famous samurai in Tokyo proposed to Sadako when he was visiting Sadako's father. Although the samurai was penniless, his bravery and his handsomeness suddenly won Sadako's heart. Soon, they were married, away from their parents, and came to Tokyo.

It didn't matter that poor Sadako had no money, and it was impossible for her to walk without a servant who served her all day, because she couldn't even wash her hands. So she just lay dry every day, like a dying patient, entirely served by her husband.

After three meals a day, I always throw the picked toothpicks under the mat. Over time, a lot of dirty and smelly toothpicks piled up under the mat, making the goblins sleepless.

Soon, her husband went on an expedition. Just after two o'clock on the first night, Sadako was suddenly awakened by a strange sound.

In the dim light, she saw a large group of soldiers about an inch tall driving neatly out from under the mat. They waved their knives, muttered words, grinned at Sadako, and slaughtered them viciously.

"Ah!" Sadako was shocked, and it was too late to escape, so she quickly covered her head with the quilt. But it was too late, the dwarves had already rushed up and tore open the quilt, and countless battle knives killed Sadako, who lost one to the other, with bruises all over her body. She fought hard and took away a batch. Another batch came, and after a whole night of tossing like this, Sadako was really scared.

Every day in the future, Sadako became thinner and thinner day by day, and her face was covered with terrifying shadows, but she did not dare to tell the people around her about this situation.

Half a month later, the husband finally came back. "Honey, what's the matter with you?" Seeing his beloved wife's expression, the husband asked anxiously, "What happened at home?"

Seeing her husband, Sadako couldn't help the fear and pain in her heart any longer. She burst into tears and told the brave samurai the truth.

"I'm hiding in the closet tonight, let me clean up these boys!" The husband's decisiveness finally made his wife settle down.

It was late at night, and the samurai hiding in the closet really saw the scene Sadako said again. He rushed forward with a loud roar regardless of his body. His majestic wind shocked the short samurai, and they were frightened and finally revealed their true shape.

"Ha! It's a bunch of dirty toothpicks!" the samurai cried, contemptuous and surprised in the joy of victory. "Who the hell threw the toothpicks?" he asked aloud. But he couldn't get an answer. Because the answer was hidden in Sadako's heart, she was so ashamed, her face flushed, and she bowed her head silently.

What the hell is going on here? It turned out that the goblins used spells to turn these toothpicks into samurai to tease Sadako the slacker.

At this moment, the wife's confession all fell into the eyes of the goblins, and they left with satisfaction.

Sure enough, Sadako has changed and become diligent since then. There are no more dirty toothpicks she dropped under the mat.

The goblins didn't do anything anymore.
