Olivia Wild stared at the carpet of her bedroom floor as her best friend Megan Williams walked back and forth. Megan had gone over the same spots so many times that Olivia was sure she’d burn a hole through the carpet. After Megan made her way from one end of the bedroom to the other end for what felt like the millionth time, she turned from Olivia’s closet door and looked at Olivia .

“Liv I-“ Megan sighed, her shoulders fell as a look of utter exhaustion took over her features.

With one quick turn, she got back on track and began pacing again.

“Is something wrong, did someone die?” Olivia asked, the suspense beginning to suffocate her.

“No, but someone might die.” Megan mumbled to herself.

“What was that?” Olivia asked.

“Nothing.” Megan said quickly.

And then the pacing started up again. Back and forth Megan went over the same spots as she imagined all the ways that this could go wrong.

Megan and Olivia and been the bestest of friends for the better part of four years. Freshmen year Megan had moved to California to live with her father after her mother had discovered that she was a lesbian and booted her out onto the streets. She didn’t even bother letting Megan’s father know. So for days Megan was homeless until a close call with a strange man in a shelter forced Megan to come to her senses and scrape together enough money to call her father.

When Megan told him what had happened he was livid that she hadn’t called sooner. After sending her some money, he booked her a one way ticket for a flight later that night. When Megan made it to LA, where she now lives, she discovered that she’d already been outed to her father by her mother. Her mom tried to convince him not to take her in but thankfully her father couldn’t care less about her sexuality. All her father wanted was a healthy, happy daughter, and that she was.

That fall, when Megan started school, she met Olivia after Olivia’s older sister, Grace was supposed to show her around but decided to ditch her after the third period. Luckily for Megan, she and Olivia had the same exact schedule. As they made their way around the school Olivia fed Megan information on all the hottest gossip as well as who was cool and who to stay clear of.

“Earth to Megan!” Olivia shouted breaking Megan’s trans.

Megan turned back to her best friend who was now lying on the bed, her chin in her hands as she stared at Megan.

“Are you in some kind of trouble with the mafia or some big bad loan sharks? Did you accidentally steal some really valuable art and now the Russian mop is after you?”

Megan chuckled as she shook her head.

“You read too much.” She deadpanned.

Olivia shook her head.

“No such thing.” She said matter of factly.

Megan sighed. So much of her life included the drop dead, gorgeous, blonde currently sitting on her bed. If this went sideways everything would change between the two. Although if it went the way Megan was hoping it would, everything still would change; for the better hopefully.

Deciding to say ‘fuck it’ Megan faced her best friend and took a deep breath.

“Olivia Patricia Wilde, I like you. Not as a friend, not as a sister, but as a lover. I understand if you don’t feel the same but-“

“No, no, no!” Olivia shouted, crossing her arms over her chest.

Megan frowned.

“You can’t do this!” Olivia shouted, jumping up from the bed.

Megan opened her mouth to apologize when Olivia ran out of the room.

“Shit, shit, shit.” Megan swore.

“Liv wait!” She shouted chasing after the girl.

Running down the hall, Megan followed Olivia out to her car.

“Liv wait.” Megan pleaded as the other girl opened her back door.

“Liv I’m so sorry, I never should have-“

Megan fell silent as Olivia pulled a box from her backseat and faced her. On the front of a box wrapped in shiny, blue, wrapping paper was a piece of paper with the words be mine.

Megan grinned like she’d one the lottery.

“I wanted to ask you first.” She said with a cute pout.

Lost for words, Olivia slowly made her way over to Megan. Taking the box out of her hands, Oliva set it on Megan’s trunk before pushing her against the car. Before her back even hit the car, Olivia’s lips where on Megan’s in a fiery my kiss.

Tongues danced together until neither girl could breath. Then, pulling back, Olivia smiled brightly.

“Is that a yes?” She asked hopefully.

Megan pecked her girlfriend’s nose.

“That’s a hell yes.” She confirmed.

Grinning like a fool, Megan pulled her girlfriend into another kiss.
