John was walking in a hallway with black shaded walls and white doors. He did not know how he arrived here. He would later question that. As he was walking down the hallway, he then heard a phone ring. He answered it.

"Hello." John said.

"Hey John, what are you doing?" It was his cousin Frank.

John looked around and realized he was in his mom’s house.

"Nothing. Waiting for you to call." John said feeling somewhat out of place.

Frank then said, "Hey John I have a favor to ask. Can you come and pick up this brown paper box?".

John asked him what was inside but Frank went silent and then said "Hey, I got to go but meet me at the park bro." John asked when but then realized Frank hung up. John then got up from the chair in the living room. He walked outside and stopped in the yard. He realized he was in a dream. He remembered he laid down in bedroom. Suddenly, he was at the park.

"Wow, how did I get here?” John asked himself.

He was in total awe that he was sleeping in his bedroom but at the same time was at the park. He thought to himself, "How could this be possible?" He was then able to lean his whole body in a tilting manner and started going in circles on one foot. As if he was twirling and defying gravity. He was having fun with this new skill set.

He stopped looked to the sky and said to himself. "I want to go to China."

His feet left the ground, and he was about to fly away when he heard a phone ring. He felt his being travel in a fashion that felt like warp speed back to his body. The feeling felt like a vision from a being where its surrounding seems to be blurred.

He opened his eyes, his body felt tingly, and he answered the phone.

'Hello." John said as he was memorizing his dream.

"Hey John, what are you doing?" Frank asked.

John rubbed his eyes and was about to say, "Noth-". Frank then cut him off and said,

"Hey, John, I have a favor to ask. Can you come and pick up this brown paper box?"

It dawned on John that his dream he just had was playing out. He looked down the hallway and replied,

"Whoa, dude I am having De ja vu."

Frank ignored him and said, "Hey, meet me at the park." He hung up.

John was sitting there baffled at what just happened. He hung up the house phone and went back into his room. He looked at his bed and his room for a few seconds. He thought he must go meet Frank at the park and see what this is all about. He walked out the door and remembered he stopped in the yard and looked back at his house. This felt vary mysterious still because he felt like he was floating.

The Park was a few blocks away, and as he was walking down the sidewalk a car drove by real slow with dark tinted windows. It was a car that he never seen before. He watched it drive by him. The car turned at the intersection. John kept walking.

John seen Frank at the park. John couldn't wait to tell Frank about what had just happened with his dream, the phone call, the conversation, the yard, and the car. Frank seemed a little worried.

"Frank, you are going to trip out man. I just had De ja vu." John said to Frank as John was approaching him.

"Really? About what?" Frank replied.

John remembered where he was twirling in the park.

“Over here.” He started walking to the spot he was at in his dream. He walked over and stopped and turned around to Frank who followed.

“Right here. It was right here I started doing this.” John attempted to twirl the way he did in his dream but had to lean his upper body. He demonstrated how he was on one foot leaning sideways twirling.

“I was more like this bro, defying gravity.”

Frank looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Then I looked to the sky and said China.” He looked to the sky and then looked at Frank when he said China.

“My feet left the ground, and I was floating then I started to take off and the phone rang.” John said.

“Haha, bro you know what that is called?” Frank said laughing.

“What?” John said.

“Astral projection.” Frank said

“Astral projection? That is a thing?” John said. Looking at frank in a questionable way.

“Yeah, some people attempt to do it all the time. But anyway, I got this brown paper bag.” Frank says.

Another phone ring occurs. John looks around and hears it getting louder. He looks at Frank and notices he is about to travel warp speed into his body again.

John awakes with the second ring of the phone. He gets up and grabs the phone.

“Hello.” John says. His body is tingly.

“Hey, John what are you doing? Frank asks.

John hangs up. He goes and sit down in the living room trying to wrap his mind around what has just occurred. The phone rings again but John doesn’t answer. A knock at the door interrupts his thinking process. He gets up and opens the door. It is Frank. Frank has a brown paper bag in his arms.

“Hey, John I need a favor to ask. Can you take this brown paper box?” Frank said to John.

“Hold on.” John said and walked over to the phone and unplugged it. He then went back to Frank.

“Something really weird is happening.” John said walking into the living room.

“Like what?” Frank said, as he followed John into the living room.

“Ok,” John sat down and started to explain.

“I have been having this re occurring dream that is De ja vu, and it consists of you calling me, asking me for a favor to pick up that brown paper bag from you, and every time the phone rings I go back to waking up from sleeping.” John told Frank.

They both looked at the brown paper bag.

Frank said, “Some stranger gave it to me. She said to keep it in a safe place. She also said not to open it.”

John said, “Where did you meet this person?”

“I met her last night, at this formal party. I didn’t get her name, but she was beautiful and moved with grace. She was kind of mysterious and hypnotizing. But at the end of the night, she asked if I could help her with a package in her car.” Frank said.

John was looking at the box.

“And then what happened?” John asked.

“I just remember her smile at me when she handed me the package. And then I woke up at my house on the couch. The box was sitting on the coffee table.” Frank said. Frank picked up the box and started to examine it.

“For some reason I do not want to open it. But I don’t want to keep it at my house so I thought I would bring it to you.” Frank added still looking at the box.

John asked looking where Frank picked up the box from, “Why would you think I would want to hold a mysterious box for you? What if it is a bomb or something?” John looked at Frank.

Frank and John were both looking at each other thinking of the possibilities.

“What if it is books?” Frank questioned.

“What if it’s money?” John asked with a spark of hope.

“I already thought about that.” Frank said unphased.

“Just open it up.” John insisted.

“No, she told me not to open it.” Frank said and picked it up.

John was looking at the box and he saw markings on the bottom.

“Hey, look at the bottom.” He told Frank as he made a gesture with his hand.

Frank turned the box upside down and seen some markings that looked like ancient writing. John stood up fast and said

“Hey! Those are universal law markings!” John said with excitement.

Frank looked up at John and said, “You know what? I swear after she gave me the box, she told them words; not to open it. I woke up on my couch and this box was sitting on the coffee table. I didn’t question it and decided to call you.”

“Did you have a reoccurring dream?” John looked at Frank with seriousness.

“No but I didn’t know how I went from seeing her and then being on the couch.” Frank said scratching his head.

“Oh wooowww! This is a trip man! Should we open it!? I think we should open it and see what is in it?” John said with excitement. “Because what if it is the cause of me having dejavu and astral projecting, projection or whatever you said.” John added.

Frank sat the box down and started to pace in the living room. John grabbed it and started to examine the bottom. He realized the markings must have said something of importance. He took a picture and used an app to figure out what it said. The app could not find the markings that were similar.

“John, lets go to the park.” Frank said with a tone that seems hypnotized.

“Ok, let’s go.” John got up and grabbed the box following Frank.

As they approach the park Frank recognizes the woman he seen at the formal party.

“John, look.” He nudges John. “That is her.” John looks up. They both stop. She sees them. She walks toward them. They stand there feeling stuck. She is moving with authority and grace. They are stunned in awe and it feels like everything slowed down. As she drew closer, the vibration of her being was felt. Everything fell silent except for her words.

“Hello, how are you doing?” She said in a way that felt like she was talking to one but talking to them both. They do not know if they seen her lips move or if it was telepathy. She smiled, and then she said.

“Thank you for holding this for me and not opening it.” She shrugged her shoulders. “Old teachings.” She giggled.

“What kind of teachings?” John asked effortlessly. He was interested because of the devaju.

She looked at him and shifted the box to open in front of them and she opened it. A light over came everything. Lines, symbols, and geometry overcame his vision. Silent. John woke up.

The phone rang. He answered it. He was outside when he seen a brown paper box on the porch. He was still tired. He sat down and opened the box. Inside the box he pulled out a calligraphy book and an envelope. He opened the envelope. He pulled out a of Chief Seattle, which stated,

“Man belongs to the Earth; Earth does not belong to man.”

Later that day, he went to the park to practice his calligraphy. As he was practicing, a lady was walking by and decided to stop. He felt her gaze on him.

“Is that calligraphy?” She asked.

“Yes, it is,” John said as he was concentrating on his penmanship.

“That is beautiful. Man belongs to earth; earth does not belong to man. Old teaching.” The lady said. John looked up at her and she gave him a smile and walked away. He then realized he heard that before and from that woman. He couldn’t figure out where he might have seen her or heard her. He went back to practicing the strokes of the pen. It dawned on him, that he seen her in a dream. He stood up to see if he could see her through the crowd of people walking in the park. She was gone.

The end.
