Here is a simple recipe for freeze-dried strawberries

Ever had a craving for something sweet? Well, you can satisfy that craving with these delicious freeze-dried strawberries.

Here is the recipe for freeze-dried strawberries:


-1 cup of sugar -2 cups of water -20 ounces of strawberry juice (if using store bought strawberries, just use 10 ounces)

*For the juice I simply puree fresh strawberries in my blender and strain through a cheesecloth to get rid of the seeds. -Strawberry flavoring (optional)


1) In a pot, add sugar and water and mix until dissolved

2) Bring mixture to boil

3) Simmer for 5 minutes

4) Add strawberry juice (and/or flavoring if using store bought strawberries or you don't have time to make your own juice)

5) Simmer for another 10 minutes

6) Let mixture cool in the refrigerator until cooled completely

7) Place strawberries into a container that will fit into the freezer

8) Add strawberry mixture

9) Freeze overnight.

There are many uses for freeze-dried strawberries. Here are some ideas:

1. Put them in trail mix

2. Add them to your cereal

3. Serve them on top of ice cream

4. Make a salad with them

5. Mix into Greek yogurt

6. Use them in place of raisins in an oatmeal cookie recipe

7. I bet you could bake with them too, but I haven't tried that yet

8. They make great snacks to take with you on the go

9. Put them in your child's lunch box

10. Add them to a dessert, like this one: Strawberry and Cream Layer Parfait

Benefits of freeze-dried strawberries:

1. They are healthy

2. You can eat the whole strawberry, including the stem

3. Freeze-dried strawberries don't go bad quickly as fresh strawberries do, so you can stock up on them and use them when necessary

4. Freeze-dried fruit is great for camping trips because they don't need to be refrigerated or cooked to be eaten

5. They are great to give as gifts, my kids love receiving them in their lunch boxes!

This recipe makes about 4 cups of freeze-dried strawberries which is enough for most uses. If you want more you can adjust this recipe accordingly or just make another batch. You can also experiment with different flavors of juice and strawberry flavoring.

Strawberry Fruit Pizza

Ingredients :

-Refrigerated sugar cookie dough

-Strawberry fruit spread

-Whipped cream or whipped topping (optional)


1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees

2. Cut out pieces of refrigerated sugar cookie dough into desired shapes 3. Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet

4. Bake for 5 minutes , until dough appears firm

5. Remove cookie shapes from the oven and let them cool for about 3 minutes 6. Spread strawberry fruit spread on one half of each cookie shape, leaving a 1/2 inch edge

7. Place fruit-spread side down onto parchment paper

8. Repeat steps 2-7 with remaining ingredients

9. When finished with the last step, place cookies in the freezer for 1 hour

10. Serve with whipped cream or whipped topping, if desired

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients :

-1 cup of milk -1/2 cup of Greek yogurt -1 tbsp honey -A few frozen strawberries


1. Place all ingredients in a blender

2. Blend until smooth

3. Enjoy!
