Five Craziest Starbucks Concoctions

These are the all-time strangely delicious coffee drinks

Honestly, it’s hard to remember a time in which coffee wasn’t a part of my daily routine. The only thing that gets me out of cozy bed at 7:00 AM to make it to class on time is a freshly brewed cup of joe to get me up and going.

Not just any caffeinated beverage has the power to bring me to life when all I want is two more hours of sleep. For me, it has to be the perfect combination of rich caffeine and sugary sweetness all while keeping the calorie count to a minimum. While my daily routine involves nothing fancier than a brewed Keurig with almond milk, I can’t help but to treat myself to Starbucks every so often.

So when Starbucks launches any new caffeinated concoction, you bet I’m the first in line to try it. No matter how many horrible reviews or angry baristas come as a result of the newest menu item, I need the personal experience to judge whether or not it’s worth adding to my daily routine. While a popular classic like the caramel macchiato makes for a delicious go-to, new coffee creations keep mornings interesting.

Starbucks is known for releasing these wild drinks that surpass all expectations on how we define coffee. At this point, plain black coffee is boring—especially when alternatives include beverages that are too Instagram worthy to drink. In response to Starbucks’ latest Tie Dye frappuccino, these are the most creative Starbucks drinks of all time…

Cotton Candy Frappuccino

This pink drink was nothing more than a myth for a long time—that is, until it hit counters and Instagram feeds across the country a few years back. The secret to this picture-perfect frap is a few pumps of raspberry syrup. It’s creme based, meaning it’s not infused with caffeine, but it can serve as an afternoon pick-me-up for kids of all ages.

Iced Vanilla Bean Coconut Milk Latte

Try saying that three times fast… While this drink has a very long name, it’s a classic combination of some of the best flavors Starbucks has to offer. This is the perfect amount of sweet and coffee flavors, making it impossible to go wrong with this beverage!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Obviously, this list wouldn’t be complete without arguably the most iconic beverage Starbucks has ever released. No autumn season is complete without at least one PSL to get you in the fall spirit. While some call this classic overrated, it’s a seasonal staple that will hopefully never disappear—plus the limited availability makes it taste even better.

Frappula Frappuccino

Speaking of holiday classics, this Frappuccino took Halloween to the next level. Inspired by Count Dracula, this frap oozes with mocha syrup and strawberry puree to look like a spooky mess. It almost looks inedible, which is why it’s definitely earned itself a spot on the most out-there fraps.

Caramel Cloud Macchiato

Who knew caffeine could be so controversial? This delicious macchiato that’s meant to taste like a literal cloud was endorsed by vegan celebrity, Ariana Grande. The only problem is, the drink isn’t vegan without significant modifications that change the cloud like texture of the drink. Understandably, fans were less than pleased with the partnership—even though the beverage is ultimately delicious.

This list could go on and on, especially if you include the Starbucks secret menu—a game changer that allows the customer to order the drinks of their dream. While Starbucks is synonymous with basic white girls, there’s nothing basic about these coffee offerings. We can’t wait to see what this iconic company comes up with next!
