  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp oil + for frying

  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1/2 tsp red chilli sauce\paste

How to make Crispy Corn Chat

  • Let the water boil in a vessel.
  • After boiling water, add sweet corn to it and boil it on high flame for 5-6 minutes.
  • After boiling the sweet corns will start to look puffy, put them in a sieve and drain all the water.
  • And then take it out in a big bowl.
  • After 2-3 minutes when the corn cools down a bit, then add salt, 2 tbsp corn flour, 1 tbsp all purpose flour and mix it well.
  • Then again add corn flour, flour and mix it well with the corn.
  • Do this process till the spice sticks well on the corns.
  • I had put all the cornflour together, without adding all purpose flour, adding 2-3 tbsp.
  • Heat oil in a pan on medium flame, when the oil becomes hot, take your hands over the pan.
  • If the hand is feeling hot,Then put half the corn in the pan, keeping the flame on low.
  • After adding the corn, stir the corn with a ladle and cover the pan with a plate,
  • Because some corns may crack, the oil spill can harm you.
  • Fry the corn on low-medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
  • Keep stirring the corn occasionally with a ladle. After 3-4 minutes on high flame, fry the corn for 1-2 more minutes, till the corn becomes golden brown and crispy.
  • After frying, place the tissue paper on a plate, take out the corn on it.
  • If you want, you can eat corn as well, by adding chaat masala and chopped coriander leaves on it.

To fry the fried corns in spices:

  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped garlic and fry for 2-3 seconds.
  • Now add chopped onion and mix it, then add black pepper powder, chopped coriander and fry for 1 minute.
  • After frying, add fried corn and fry it on high flame while stirring continuously for 1-2 minutes.
  • Transfer the prepared Crispy Corn Chaat into a serving bowl and serve hot immediately.

suggestion:

  1. If the spice is not sticking well while mixing the sweet corn, then add 1 tsp water and mix it well.
  2. Put the corns on a mesh after 1-2 minutes after removing the sweet corn on the tissue paper, this will keep the corns crispy.
  3. After 1-2 minutes of boiling the corns, start adding spices to it, because by that time there is moisture in the corn, due to which the spice sticks well.
  4. Always be careful while frying corns, as some corns sometimes burst in the oil, so always fry with a plate covered.
  5. If the corns are put in very hot oil, they will burn immediately and they will not be able to fry, then fry in medium hot oil only.
  6. You can keep the corns pre-boiled and when you want to make chaat, you can quickly fry them.
