Is It Time to Retire Roe v Wade?

The Supreme Court will decide soon.

The abortion issue has been the most contentious legal decision in my lifetime.

Pro-Life or Pro-Death that is the question. Life is the real choice.

According to a leak from the Supreme Court justices might be deciding to leave abortion up to the individual states to determine their stand on the issue. (As of 6/24/22 The Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade)

Having lived before Roe (as it’s commonly called) women had to resort to back-alley abortions.

To drive home how terrible that was the common medical device used was a wire coat hanger.

In the 1970s there was still a stigma attached to a woman having a child outside of marriage.

The child was sent off to live with relatives in Kansas until the blessed event took place.

Then the parents told everyone they adopted a child.

Abortions were only allowed in cases of rape, incest, or the health of the mother.

Even in the early days of Hollywood out of wedlock abortions or births were covered up by studio heads.

Why So Many Abortions?

In 1973 black leaders felt the legalization of abortion was genocide against the black race. Jesse Jackson was among those on the opposition side.

It’s No Longer 1973 In Hollywood

Hollywood changed America’s feelings on abortion. Hollywood couples got together and had kids out of wedlock and the public didn’t go crazy.

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell probably being the pioneers of out of wedlock child rearing. They are still not married after being together for decades.

Famous couples broke up had more kids with more partners and the public turned a blind eye. As long as we were being entertained who cares about their personal lives?

Former NFL star Antonio Cromartie is quite the busy dad, as he is famous for having 14 children with eight different women and what did he get for that?

Is it any wonder that when bad behavior is rewarded you get more bad behavior?

So, kids out of wedlock or abortions were a sort of get out of jail free card. Personal responsibility for your actions was no longer applicable.

Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio wanted more abortion clinics in the city’s five boroughs.

What Happened to Personal Responsibility?

Roe v Wade is not the issue — personal responsibility is.

If you do the crime, you should do the time. But not in the case of abortion. Go wild do whatever, get pregnant, get rid of “It”, and go on with your life.

What’s wrong with women keeping their legs together and men keeping their fly zipped?

Sex is pretty great. It’s very enjoyable. It’s supposed to be to make sure our species survives.

Pornographers make millions on the people who don’t even do it but watch it.

Some Final Thoughts

If you’re unable to make a commitment to each other how can you make a commitment to care for a child?

In most cases abortions happen because it’s just not convenient to have a child right now. A two to one vote kills someone.

Does life begin at conception? According to biology it does. Politically it’s a bouncing ball depending on what day it is.

I’m eight years younger than my two older siblings. I doubt my parents were looking forward to another kid.

If I had been conceived 40 years later there’s at least a small chance I might not be here writing this.

Who am I to tell others how to live their lives? You must be born before you can have a life to live.

If you don’t want kids, I have no problem with that. If you do, then great. But if you do become pregnant then you both need to step up to the plate and take responsibility for your actions.

Just because society rubber stamps abortion as being OK doesn’t mean it is.
