The Zahgon fighter ships dive suicidally toward the planet Metaluna. Slicing through the thick cloud covering of the planet’s Ionization Layer, the delta-winged invaders magnetically carry a payload of deadly meteors in tow. The ships swoop in for the kill, sending the meteors hurtling down onto the war-ravaged planet’s surface. In a series of spectacular explosions, the space boulders sear into the Metalunan landscape. Eye-boggling displays of molten rock and incandescent smoke mushroom into the air, illuminating the surrounding area for miles around.
It can take a long time and a lot of effort to get rid of abdominal fat. In comparison to other parts of the body, reducing belly fat is more difficult. It's crucial to know why this is the case.
Hello everyone, I want to welcome you back to my podcast, it has been a long while since the last show, but now I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I have been busy with other projects and taking time to examine the progress of the show. In the interim, I have read two novels, one science fiction the other technothriller. For the first time, I got invited to another podcast. I did a mini-review of today's show topic as a guest contributor for the StarPodLog podcast. StarPodLog is all about the publication of fan magazine Starlog first published in the mid-70s and went out of print during the early 2000s. The podcast host, Nayr and Kayvura also discuss the Star Trek franchise and Gene Roddenberry in a similar podcast. You can follow them on StarPodLog on Twitter and StarPodLog and StarPodTrek Podcast - YouTube. I also want to mention science fiction author Erasmo Acosta, who has written a great sci-fi novel about the future. I did a book review of his book K3+ for my vocal media page, be sure to check it out. Now onto the show.
We always have that list of shows on our Netflix watch lists that we mean to watch, that other people have recommended but we never get the time to watch. Now we all have the time in the world and here is a list of 10 great shows currently on Netflix that you will have no excuse not to watch now.
Once or twice a year, with my husband or any art-loving friend I can coerce into going with me, I go to a few shows in New York City that I (or we) are interested in seeing.
Immortality, so many have tried to unleash the secret to man's eternal existence. only to fail. The quest for immortality has captivated man for thousands of years. The ever-elusive Fountain of Youth as they say remains untouched by human hands. Ponce Del-Leon thought he found it only to be disillusioned so the legend has it. To live for a thousand years or even 500 like Buck Rogers has been a dream for many. Cybernetics has become man's only hope of rejuvenation to return in the future. Yet, life expectancy especially in the United States continues to drop despite all the technological and scientific marvels of our times.
It had become one of the central tenets of his new belief system and he hadn’t so far experienced anything that persuaded him to revise his opinion. All the same, he felt on the most basic level that unless there was at least a modicum of whimpering during the proceedings, he wasn’t doing the job properly. And it was a job, after all. Not in the traditional sense of the word, true, but he did receive payment in exchange for services, which enabled him to define it as such. And he did have a set of terms and conditions – notionally, anyway - to which he strictly adhered, as did his clients: 50% up front and 50% on completion. To him, this was more than a quirk; it was what gave the transaction validity, what turned something that could have been regarded as a mere hobby into a professional contract. Reconciling the end-to-end transaction also rationalised any reservations he may have had at the back of his mind. Not that there ever were any. Despite his initial anxiety, it turned out he had quite a talent for his work. Taking pride in the art of instilling a real fear in his prey - while not overdoing the physical damage - was an unexpected bonus.
Shivering to the bone. Itching all over till I bleed. This must be the end. There’s got to be an end to this vomiting. Yawning, I fall back on the bed. Todd sits me up and brushes a cold glass against my mouth.

With a grumble, Mom pushed her phone in front of me. "Isn't this article about grass? Haven't I ever written one? Isn't that one not bad?" The words temporarily pushed Mom back, but it was probably just the calm before the storm. I let out a long sigh, picked up my phone, and prepared to make up the title of "How Steel is Made".
Helen Keller is one of the most “Inspirational” women I have ever read about. This woman had every reason to ‘give up’ but refused to let her difficulties to stop her in anything that she wanted to do.
We all know the name “Christian Dior” and feel ‘chic’ when wearing his clothes. The fashion shows are a wonder to behold and it’s always a good name for the models to add to their CV’s. But how many of us know the history of the man and the company?
Back to Black --- Stronger than Me --- Rehab. She was a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song. It is hard to find a better guide to Orange County than Gustavo Arellano. Previously editor of the OC Weekly, Arellano moved to the Los Angeles Times in 2018 as a features writer and columnist. A self-described “nerd,” he has spent decades uncovering Orange County stories that others overlooked or ignored, reporting primarily on the growth of the Latino population and power in the OC and the predictable backlash.
The night the town burned down we were thirteen. Shireen, Marta, Anna and I had all spent the night at my house. After my parents, who slept like corpses and retired each night promptly at nine, had reminded us to turn off all the lights and get to bed at a “sensible hour,” we gathered our supplies and headed out the front door toward Owl Rock.
"He'll bulldoze your life, destroy your relationships, and when he's got you completely to himself: he'll destroy you. It's what he does," says a wizened older lady to another woman, who, in a strange series of events, has had a baby literally drop into her arms.

Each of us has been in a situation where you have to say "no" out loud, but it's so hard to do. It is complicated because from an early age we were taught to be "good", permissive, comfortable, not to be capricious. We thank the parents for this ability, due to which (to some extent) the complicated socialization process is easy.
My boyfriend is a tv fan, when not working, he is in front of a screen, hypnotized by sports, series and movies. When we moved in together, he was proud to bring both of his big screen tvs.
There was a three-way tie for first in the high jump at the NCAA West Preliminary Round, last weekend as Montana State's Lucy Corbett, Oklahoma's Madison Langley-Walker and Texas A&M's Lamara Distin all cleared 1.82 on their first try. None of the three winners missed on their previous jumps, unlike the other competitors who eventually cleared 1.82. There was a four-way tie for fourth place as Jamari Drake of New Mexico, Saara Hakanen of Oklahoma State, USC's Morgan Smalls and Texas A&M's Tyra Gittens all made it over 1.82 on their second try.
To tell my story, I must pay homage to a painful past, to a time when the world found itself in the thralls of hatred and division. The history I speak of does not even belong to myself. It belonged to my late father, a professional actor by trade and psychological refugee of the past. While my father never faced the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps, the loss of his parents at the hands of Hitler's regime resulted in deep scars that would accompany him through the day. His memories were like a silent personal assistant whose primary task was to remind him of the parents and family he had lost at Auschwitz. A fuller description is necessary to understand the quiet legacy that he would bring to each of his relationships. My father was born in Berlin, Germany, in1926. At that time, the threat posed by fascism was believed to be inconsequential. The conscience of Germany's voters would allow the destructive tendencies to ravage the country. People of conscience would never permit the rantings of the Nazi party to determine the country's fate. That was the belief at the time, a form of psychological denial, passionately embraced by intellectuals and more than a few historians. The country's cultural life gave little indications of its apocalyptic future. A free press still existed.
As young girls, our best friends are often other girls. We play in the sandbox together, race each other across the monkey bars, and braid each other’s hair. But as we start maturing into young women, we are subtly taught to compete with each other, usually to get attention.
I have this (perfectly normal) ambition to be a 1940s Hollywood screenwriter. Therefore, it might surprise you that I hadn’t seen Citizen Kane until recently.
Sarah Silverman maintains a reputation as one of our hottest and no holds barred comedians. She’s the gal with the chuckles, plus a definite point of view. With an attitude and an act ranging from no limits brashness to speculating on the very origins of the human race, Silverman’s comedy holds something outrageous or just plain out there for everyone. She’s now firmly ranked in the same rarified female, funny air as Kathy Griffin, Wanda Sykes, Margaret Cho, Ellen DeGeneres, and Roseanne Barr. Silverman is well known as a funny lady now, but back in the 90s, she was a serious scientist! Though only guest starring in a two part episode, she became an active part of UPN’s Star Trek: Voyager’s crew, as she fought the evil Ed Begley Jr!
I can't remember when a row of banana trees was planted along the fence of the office building in the south of the company. When I started to pay attention to them, four or five of the seven or eight banana trees already had fruits. On the fruit-bearing trees, hundreds of twin banana brothers and sisters were divided into several rows around a main stem, and each row was clustered into a circular arc like a rehearsal. Each of these little people is wrapped in a long green shirt, like a curved crescent moon, and like a boat carrying a heart.
Welcome perusers !!! June 22, 1987, United Kingdom That evening 25 year old Wendy Toll went out with her boyfriend, despite the fact that they were enamored they didn't begin to live respectively, Presently it was 12 PM, time’s slipping away and since they have work to do in the first part of the day. The two of them went to Wendy's bedsits, (Bedsits resembles a single guy room here). A little room which has room, parlor and kitchen, Wendy remained there and worked, there were part of bedsits close by. When they got back to Wendy's bedsits, the two of them kissed and nodded off. The following day morning, Wendy's sweetheart got a call from Wendy's work environment. In that, they said Wendy didn't come to work today and they couldn't reach her. Presently Wendy's sweetheart quickly went to check her bedsits out, there a major shock was hanging tight for him, somebody came to Wendy's bedsit and killed her ruthlessly, without the garments she was completely covered with blood. I'm cautioning you in the beginning itself, it's nothing but an ordinary case.
George Washington didn't actually wear dentures made of wood as most people believe his dentures were made of ivory bone human teeth and animal teeth and they were said to be strong enough to crush other teeth.
Every so often I wonder what poor, misbegotten soul built my shabby cabin in Arrak’s rolling mountains. Someone must have been here before me. What happened to them? Did they go mad? Or die of loneliness? Or disappear into the wilderness, eaten by a monster or poisoned by the vicious plant life on this world? I don’t know, and the question haunts me when I think about it. So I try not to think much. About anything.
In the original comics, Zheng Bao Yu, also known as Fah Lo Suee, is the immortal half-sister of Shang Chi, the daughter of Fu Manchu, and the head of her own criminal organization, the Oriental Expenditors, who were a front for the Golden Daggers sect. Under the moniker "Cursed Lotus," she ruled over a narcotics empire that supplied a highly addictive drug known as "Wild Tiger." She's vicious, duplicitous, gaslighting girl boss and honestly, she's still one of my favorite Marvel characters.
“Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream” The Beatles, ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ I really don't need an excuse to revisit the back catalogue of The Beatles.
We walked among you, but you never noticed. That was your mistake, not seeing us was what would get you killed. I was not normal, my life ended and another began. My name was Katie Blakewell, before him, before he killed me. I had a family, a sister, mom, and dad. They were gone. I was all that was left. Then my name was Constanice. I lived in Atlanta, I had friends, Hanna, Julie, Malinda. Now my name is Phoebe Lane. I live in Chicago. I have friends again but I do my best to keep them at arm's length, to keep them safe from them, from me. I never want to hurt people but I can’t help it. It’s now in my nature, I hate it. I’ve searched my whole new life for a way, any way to get out of this but it's impossible. Death will never come again. It's like I’ve chased away my only chance to be happy again. To see my family again.
I am a longtime music aficionado dating back to 1972 when I bought my first records. I bought two albums A Song For You by Carpenters and Greatest Hits by Blood, Sweat and Tears (of course both on 8-track tape). These two records took me away into thoughts and imaginations I never experienced before. I was instantly sold, a fan of music right from the get go. All I could think about was the next record I would buy. I started making lists of songs and albums I wanted. By 1978 it became an obsession. I had to buy everything I wanted. My lists went from 3 or 4 albums up to 40 or 50 titles at all times. In 1992 my friend Mitzi and I spent the entire day removing all my albums from my walk-in closet and counted each one and alphabetized everything and rearranged them back into the closet. When all was said and done the final count was approximately 11,500 albums (and that did not include the 7,500 seven inch singles I had). This wasn't even the top number. I continued collecting records until 1995. I would guesstimate, at one point, I owned around 16,000 albums. That was crazy. When I moved from Orange to Fullerton in 1996 it was a lot of work packing and moving those records.
