Tigers Eye is one of My Favorite Crystal Gemstones of all time, and has definitely made my List of Super Stones. My favorite things about it are:

Tigers Eye is a type of quartz crystal that is known for its golden-brown color, often with chatoyancy (a shimmering effect). It is believed to be a powerful stone for protection & courage. It can help bring balance & clarity to one's life. It is also associated with prosperity, wealth & abundance. Tigers Eye is a very popular gemstone, is a type of Quartz. It is a pseudomorph of compact Quartz after the fibrous mineral Crocidolite. It is formed when the Quartz takes over and dissolves the Crocodolite, leaving the Quartz in a finely fibrous and chatoyant form. When polished, it has a silky luster that creates a beautiful chatoyant effect, which looks like beautiful layers of brown & yellow lines & waves shimmering in the light.

There are more Tigers Eye than just the most common Golden Brown beauty, they can also Naturally form in Red, Blue, Grey & Green. Sometimes we may see them in more vibrant colors like pink, purple, & galaxy, they can be and most likely are dyed to be more colorful, but still have the unique chatoyant effect that gives it its' notable flash. When it is in its most raw & pure form, it is almost unrecognizable because the chatoyant effect is best seen after the polishing, but you can still see the beautiful layers on the raw stone that are different shades of light & dark browns, usually.

Tigers Eye is a type of quartz that is usually found in metamorphic rocks around the world. It is commonly found in the United States, India, South Africa, Australia, & Canada. It can be found in both large & small pieces & is often used as a decorative stone in jewelry & other objects.

How to care for Tigers Eye

Tigers Eye is a beautiful & unique stone that requires special care to maintain its luster & color. To keep Tigers Eye looking its best, you should store it away from direct sunlight, humidity, & extreme temperatures. Additionally, you should clean it with a soft cloth & warm water, avoid using any harsh detergents or chemicals. If the stone gets dirty or dull, you can use a mild soap & if not a soft cloth, a soft toothbrush to gently scrub away the dirt & oils. After cleaning, make sure to thoroughly rinse the stone & allow it to air dry. With proper care, your Tigers Eye should last for many years.
