Galaxies are massive objects.
Four of my short articles that you may find educational.

Galaxies are massive objects holding vast numbers of stars, all held together by gravity.
There are three major types of galaxies the first being a spiral galaxy like our own Milky Way. Most spiral galaxies consist of a flat rotating disk of stars with a bulge in the centre which contains a large concentration of stars.
Another type is an elliptical galaxy which has the shape of an elongated sphere.
An irregular galaxy is the third and it has no regular or symmetrical structure.
It is estimated that there are two trillion galaxies in the observable Universe, each one holding millions or billions of stars.
Yes, the Universe is an enormous place, maybe even too large for our minds to comprehend.

On Earth, the highest land above sea level is the summit of Mount Everest which is located in the Himalayas. It has an elevation of 8,848 metres, just over 8.8 kilometres.
Our planet has a diameter of 12,742 kilometres, Mars is a lot smaller than the Earth with a diameter of only 6,779 kilometres, but it has a dormant volcano named Olympus Mons that has an incredible height of 29,900 metres, 29.9 kilometres.
As a comparison, the highest volcano on Earth is Mauna Loa, it rises to a height of 9 kilometres but that height is measured from the ocean floor.
It is estimated that the last time Olympus Mons erupted was 25 million years ago.

Yes, we did go to the moon.
It really annoys me when someone says "men never landed on the Moon"
I along with 650 million other people watched the television as the first man stepped on the surface of the Moon, that historic moment was way back in 1969.
An estimated 400,000 people contributed to the task of putting men on the Moon.
Did they all deceive us? I don't think so.
How could it be fake, we saw the Saturn V rocket with the three men on board leaving the Earth, and we also saw them land in the Pacific Ocean when they returned home.
The Apollo program cost many billions of dollars, and as I said an estimated 400,000 people were involved in the project over 9 years, all that cost and work, just for an elaborate hoax.
Make up your own mind.

We are all on the same Journey.
It is estimated that 117 billion humans have lived on the surface of our planet, and roughly 8 billion are still alive today.
We are all on the same journey through space, circling our nearest star the Sun, at 110,000 kilometres per hour, and we don't even notice it.
As you know, we call that complete orbit around the Sun a year.
Sadly, some infants will not complete one orbit but some humans will circle the Sun over a hundred times.
I feel privileged to have made that journey 70 times.
Considering the age of the Universe, our time here on Earth is minuscule. We should all make the most of our precious time living here on our magical planet.

We can only imagine what our early ancestors were thinking as they gazed up at the night sky, were they curious as to what the heavens had to hide?
Now it is very different as we have developed sophisticated telescopes and other specialised scientific instruments that are helping to reveal some of the secrets the Universe holds.
Simple life forms were living on our planet almost 4 billion years ago, since that time billions of animal species have existed, and millions of species are still alive today.
The evolutionary path for life has been long but at last, we have arrived. Our highly developed brain has given us intelligence and curiosity, now we can try and make sense of our existence.
My story is in 16 parts and is free to read.
