Hitmen hired to kill a rape victim mistakenly kill perp's sister, neighbor instead

Beaux Cormier hired two hitmen to kill his niece to prevent her from testifying against him in court after the man raped her. Instead, the hitmen killed Cormier’s sister (the victim’s mother,) and a neighbor as they defended the young lady from the men. The incident occurred in June 2021 in Montegut, Louisiana.

Sister, Neighbor Shot While Defending Victim

Brittney Cormier opened the door the day 25-year-old Andrew Eskine and 22-year-old Dalvin Wilson rang the doorbell. She knew why the men were at the home. When the men asked for the victim, Brittney lied and said that she was the victim. The men shot and killed her.

Once inside the home, the men shot a second woman., a neighbor named Hope Nettleton, who was visiting at the time. Hope protected the victim, who was able to escape the home after the chaos erupted, from the men. She died at the scene.

Cormier hired the two men to carry out the attack, fearing a lengthy prison sentence if the victim testified against him. Cormier was already a registered sex offender in the state of Louisiana.

Weeks before the hitman attack, Cormier (allegedly) raped the victim in her home. He had been arrested on charges of third-degree rape of a family member.

Men Charged in Both Murders

All three men face double murder charges in the attack and were taken into custody. Wilson and Eskine both confessed to the crime. All three men face the death penalty if convicted.

This was the second attempt Cromier made to kill the victim. The first attempt was unsuccessful. That’s when Cormier decided to hire other people to take care of his dirty work for him.

Woman Kills Elderly Husband by Pouring Boiling Hot Sugar Water on Him as he Slept

Corinne Smith threw a mixture of sugar and boiling hot water on her 80-year-old husband, killing the man, after her daughter said that he sexually abused her and her brother when they were children.

Smith Sentenced

The 59-year-old woman was sentenced to 12-years to life for the murder of 80-year-old Michael Baines. The murder took place in the couple's home in Neston, England, a small town about four hours from London.

The Attack

Smith mixed about six pounds of sugar into a gallon of water. She tossed the mixture onto the man’s torso and arms as he slept. Then, she walked nine houses down, asking the neighbor to call the police because she thought she just hurt her husband.

Police arrived to find the man in excruciating pain, his skin peeling from his body. He was transported to the hospital where he had burns on over 36% of his body. He remained in the burn unit in critical condition for about two weeks before he died from his injuries.

Paul Hughes Makes Statement

Baines’ death was’ painful and cruel ‘and’ horrific ‘, Chief Inspector of Cheshire Police Paul Hugues said.

“The sugar placed in the water makes it vicious,” he said. “It becomes thicker and stickier and penetrates the skin better. This left Michael in agony and rather than calling emergency services, she wasted time walking to a house nine doors away to tell a neighbor she was not close to what she had done.”

Craig Braines, Smith's son, died by suicide in 2007. He lived a troubled life and had spent time in prison on an assault conviction after he attacked a man that he claimed sexually assaulted him.
