Robert Burnette Tries to Rip Out 9-Week-Old Jax’s Voice Box

When 9-week-old Jax would cry, his father, Robert Burnette, would pick him up, shove his fingers down his throat to try to remove his larynx, and then shake him. All Jax needed with love from mom and dad, maybe a bottle or a fresh diaper, but instead, he endured horrific torture that ended in his death from a violent POS and carrier who watched it all happen.

Robert told police if he removed Jax’s voice box he would stop crying.

A Horrible Tragedy

On Nov. 7, 2016, Jax began crying. As usual, Robert picked him up, shoved his fingers down his throat, and violently shook the baby.

Robert then took Jax and slammed his face down on the bed and he pressed one of his huge hands down on the tiny baby’s body while holding him by the back of the neck with the other.

Jax’s Mother Watched the Abuse

Jax’s mother would have intervened and possibly saved her son. Instead, she stood back and watched it happen. Megan Hendricks didn’t call 911 nor the police for help.

The abuse began on October 28, 2016, continually occurring until Nov. 7, 2016, when Hendricks finally sought medical attention for her infant son.

No Emotion for “The Baby”

Hendricks showed no emotion for Jax at the hospital. She never called him by name, only referring to him as “the baby” or “that kid.” She lied to hospital staff stating that she didn't know how the injuries occurred.

Jax passed away. He suffered from a liver contusion, broken bones, and a brain bleed. He remained in the hospital until his death on November 28, 2016.

A History of Violence

Robert had a history of violence, attempting to kill his brother several times before. He’d been in and out of mental institutions for severe anger issues and had been diagnosed with a plethora of mental disorders.

Guilty Pleas and Sentencing

Two years after Jax’s death, Burnette pleaded guilty to child abuse resulting in death. He admitted everything that he had done to baby Jax. He was sentenced to 26-years in prison.

Hendricks pleaded guilty to abuse and neglect of a child resulting in death. A Missouri court sentenced her to 21-years behind bars.

Jeremiah Wright Decapitates Disabled Son

In 2011, Louisiana man Jeremiah Lee Wright, decapitated his 7-year-old disabled son with a meat cleaver because he wanted to make his wife “feel stupid.” Wright said he was tired of caring for 7-year-old Jori Lirette, who required 24/7 care from his parents because he suffered from cerebral palsy, so he bludgeoned the boy to death before decapitating and dismembering him, leaving his head on the side of the road where the boy’s mother could see. He told police that he “wanted her to feel stupid” when she saw the head.

Jori suffered from heart problems and required a feeding tube. He was wheelchair-bound and depended on his parents for most of his care. His mother, Jesslyn Lirette, said that Jori was her “star” during a news conference. Witnesses stated that Lisette often left Wright with the boy to care for him alone, which caused tension between the couple. She would often take off unexpectedly without regard to things Lisette needed to be done.

Lisette had taken the truck into the shop for a tire repair because Jori had a doctor's appointment the following day.

Insanity Plea

Wright did not serve any time in prison for the crime. A court found him not guilty by reason of insanity. It was revealed in court that Wright thought his son was a "CPR dummy." He is now being held at the East Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson
