Tyrone Lee picked the wrong women to pick on that day

When an armed man broke into an Oklahoma liquor store, he never thought the mother-daughter running it posed much threat. He was bigger and stronger than the women and carried a sawed-off shotgun in his hand. The day he broke into the liquor store was the day he learned a couple of valuable lessons, the first and most important being to not judge a book by its cover. The second being fuck around and find out.

An Armed Intruder

Ashley Lee looked up from the register of Forest Acres Liquor Store in Tusla on February 22, 2001, and sees a man dressed in black with a mask over his face walk into the family liquor store. Her mother Tina Ring sees the man at about the same time. Suddenly, they notice the sawed-off shotgun in his hand. Shocked, Tina grabs her gun from underneath the register.

The man runs behind the register where Ashley stands and points the weapon in her face as he demands money. Ashley opens the register and hands him the money. The man attempts to exit the store. Tina mistakenly pushes the wrong alarm and locks him inside with them.

A Gun Battle Begins

Pissed off, the armed man turns around. Scared for her life and just as pissed, Tina opens fire, unloading the clip on the intruder. He returns to the store and demands Tina open the second register. She tells him there is only one register and that’s when she realizes she knows the man: he’d been in the store an hour, 40-minutes before that day. He frequented the liquor store in fact.

She shoots her weapon at the intruder again. Pissed off, the man attacks Tina. As they fight over the weapon, he tosses Tina around like a ragdoll but she refuses to let go of that gun. Ashley fires a shot at the struggling pair.

The intruder eventually wrestles the gun from Tina’s hands and begins to pistol whip her after he realized she had unloaded the clip on him moments earlier.

Determined to save her mother, Ashley fired another shot at point blank range at the intruder. The stunned man backs up and the women made their escape.

I am glad this story has a happy ending for Ms. Ring and Ms. Lee. I am proud of the ladies for standing up for themselves. Hero ladies. I also hope time has helped them deal with this event.
