On July 16, 2021, a Colorado jury found 59-year-old Mark Redwine guilty of the 2012 murder of his son, 13-year-old Dylan Redwin. Mark murdered his son after the two argued over photos the teen found showing his father wearing women's lingerie and eating f**es out of a diaper. Dylan threatened to expose his father and show these photos to the court and other people.

He faces up to 40-years in prison. Sentencing will take place in October.

Dylan Missing After Discovering Disturbing Photos

Dylan went missing from his father’s home during a court-ordered visit during the Thanksgiving holiday in 2012 a short time after the two argued over photos showing Mark wearing women’s lingerie and eating f**s out of a diaper. Dylan already had problems with his father before finding the photos and that only strained it further.

Dylan and his older brother Corey discovered the photos on Mark’s computer in 2011 while on a road trip. Corey saved the photos to his phone, but neither teen confronted Mark at this time over the discovery. Finding the photos did change the brother's outlook of their father.

Fed up with the way Mark treated his man and perturbed by the photos, Dylan argued with him before he went missing this Thanksgiving holiday. Dylan confessed to his brother that he intended to confront his father over the photos. No one saw Dylan after that argument, although Mark told police he left the home and when he returned, Dylan was missing.

Remains Found

Dylan’s partial remains were discovered near his father’s home in 2013. They did not locate his head until 2015 when hikers found it about 5 miles from the location his remains were found.

A Medical Examiner found two marks in Dylan’s skull later confirmed as injuries caused by a knife wound. Dylan’s mother, Elaine Hall, believed that Mark was involved in his disappearance from the start.

The last four text messages sent from Mark to Dylan on the day he reported him missing:

8:14 a.m.: Hey bud, out of the office, call me.

8:15 a.m.: Hey you, call me please.

11:23 a.m.: Dyl, I am home and you’re nowhere to be found. Come back so I can get you to Bayfield. At least call me, k?

2:33 p.m.: Dylan, you need to call me. Where are you?

Police arrested Mark for the murder of Dylan in 2016.

Corey Redwine presented police with the disturbing images of his father. Those images were presented at trial and made available to the public. You can visit the Colorado Courts website to view all the evidence presented in the case.

Mark Redwine Trial

Mark testified in court that he left Dylan home alone on the day he went missing and that he was missing when he returned. His attorneys argued that wild animals killed the boy, referring to a bite mark found in Dylan's skull.

A Medical Examiner later confirmed the bite marks were consistent with blunt force trauma caused by a knife.
