We are living in perilous times.

When I tell you we’re living in dangerous times, I mean it. The number of stories we’ve been hearing these days of kidnappings and killings and pure evil is enough to keep one up at night. I repeat, please, if you are going out, tell somebody where you’re going. Even if it’s not a family member, at least tell a friend. The days we’re inside warrant it.

Today, I’m bringing you a story I saw that I just had to come and discuss with you. Without any further ado, let’s jump right into the story.

**Before reading on, please make sure to like and follow my Facebook page so you don't miss out on any new and interesting lists, articles, and stories that I post every single day. I have a really fun page. If you like my page, you will have fun too. So what's stopping you? Like my page and let's have fun together!

This story was posted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria (EFCC). The story is of how they arrested a man by the name of Ukaeje John Emeka in Port Harcourt for the crime of selling and buying HUMAN ORGANS for trafficking to foreigners. I’ll show you excerpts from the story and then we’ll discuss.

Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested leader of a syndicate selling and buying human organs for trafficking to foreigners.

The syndicate leader: Ukaeje John Emeka ( alias Dr. Phil Mark, Dr. Donald Phillip, Dr. Wesley David), was arrested on April 16, 2021 at Rumukparali, Ozuoba, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, based on established intelligence on his suspicious fraudulent internet dealings.

Preliminary investigations by the EFCC showed that, the suspect is leading a syndicate of fraudsters falsely presenting themselves as medical doctors, with a human organ bank, particularly kidneys for sale and purchase.

Victims of the syndicate include people with renal disease and even healthy people desirous of selling their organs in Nigeria; India; Pakistan; Indonesia and United Arab Emirate.

Items recovered from the suspect include: one Nigerian passport; one Republic of Cote D'ivore passport, nine ATM cards; one black-coloured HP laptop; one gold-coloured Tecno L9 plus phone; one- gold coloured Samsung Galaxy J8 and one ash- coloured Lexus ES 330 salon car.

The Commission is on the trail of other members of the syndicate within and outside Nigeria.”

So Emeka and his team pose as doctors even though they are not, convince foreign clients that they are in the business of buying and selling organs (especially kidneys) and then go ahead to find victims who have renal disease (which is kidney disease) and sometimes healthy people with no disease, and they trade with these kidneys. These HUMAN ORGANS.

How much money does a person need? How far are we as human beings really willing to go in the name of money? Human Organs! What is the line we draw? Abeg, where is the line?

Reacting to the story, a former classmate of Emeka saw it and tweeted:

My classmate then in secondary school.

This Emeka had the opportunity to go to school, could have gone into any other profession and chose this one. Kai! Too bad.

As civilians, you and me reading this story, the advice is just to remain vigilant. Remain careful. Don’t go to places that look sketchy, don’t entertain calls or respond to emails with people who seem dubious. Shine your eyes I beg you. These truly are perilous times. Human Organs! Ha!

That’s All.

I hope you’ve had fun. Don’t forget to like my page (Jide Okonjo) if you don’t already for more stories like this, the fun never ends!
