Twins, Twinks, Daddies, and Death

Police Line

Cameron didn’t know what to do. Cody had killed him. He never suspected Cody would be capable of doing such a thing, but his twin had killed his daddy. Sugar daddy that is. Cameron stared in disbelief at the scene in front of him before turning away. He was now a witness to his brother’s crime, and he was horrified. He looked back as Cody took a little black book off of Damian before running away as the sirens could be heard in the background. Cameron hung up the phone and broke down crying. He’d had other daddies, but Damian was his favorite.

He was a beautiful soul, and not bad looking either. Cameron knew he shouldn’t think ill of the dead, but he wasn’t exactly the prettiest guy around. Then again, Cameron wasn’t with him for his looks. Damian worked at the same company as Cody, a Physician’s recruiting office, and they made good money. Five, ten, or even twenty thousand a recruitment, and that was the bonus pay! The regular wages and benefits of the job were great, but Cameron loved when Damian got a bonus.

He’d come home in a great mood, and they’d pop a bottle of one of his many wines. Damian collected them in his spare time, but only started opening them after meeting Cameron. Damian had said he was going to propose to him soon, and Cameron was way past the age to pass over a good opportunity like that. He’d never find a new sugar daddy in his late twenties, at least that’s what he thought about the matter.

A Proposal

But now that was gone, and all Cameron could do was cry until the police arrived. He told them what he’d seen and what he knew about the victim and the perpetrator. They were suspicious at first that the suspect was his twin, but he had a picture of the two of them together. He informed them that Cody had always been jealous of Damian’s success at the company, even though it was Damian who had gotten Cody the job. He coveted Damian's promotions within the company, and was indignant when Damian would get clients worth more in bonuses than Cody. He was also very resentful of Cameron’s relationship with Damian, and Cameron could never figure out if it was because Cody actually wanted to be with Damian. After all, Cody was the one who introduced Cameron to Damian.

So Damian had invited Cody over for dinner, despite Cameron’s hesitations. Cameron thought that inviting Cody would only bring stress and conflict, but Damian was sure an olive branch would change things between them. After dinner they began to argue about a client that would turn out a 20k bonus. Things got heated fast and Cody smashed Damian over the head with a bottle of wine!

The police took account of the story and told him to leave the crime scene. Cameron went to his tiny studio apartment where he took a shower. And another. And another. And then one more, as if bathing enough times could wash away the memories of what had just happened. He thought a lot about his brother, and how their parents had abandoned them when they were five. They were put in foster care, and kept together, at least most of the time. They were thankfully together when they were kicked out of the system, so they began doing sex work together. That really paid the bills, since everyone wanted to have sex with twins, and they were willing to pay top dollar for it. In the world of sex work they were the greatest of all time, so to say. Cameron snapped back to reality with a knock on the door.

The police had come to ask him more questions. The detectives asked about their time in foster care, and he told them all he knew, but he only knew stories that Cody had tld him about their time apart from each other. He avoided talking about their time doing sex work. It wasn’t something he was particularly proud of, so he rarely brought it up. They asked about what happened after their time in the system, but Cameron told them that they split up after that. It was true that Cody went his own way, but that was after three years and many violent nights.

He told them about the little black book, and how he had never noticed it before. He asked about significance of it, but the detectives said they weren’t allowed to discuss parts of an open case. They asked about places he might go if he were escaping, any locations he might try to use to hide. Cameron told them all he knew about the adult Cody, and they finally left. He neglected again to mention Damian’s comment at dinner that started the fight to begin with, the suggestion that Cody join them in a threesome.

Two days later Cameron got the call that Cody had been arrested. He rushed down to the station and was allowed in the viewing room for the interrogation. The detectives from the other day were writing down his confession as he said it. Cody told them what Cameron had not wanted to come out. The sexual advances. Cody had a therapist and psychologist who had both diagnosed him with major post traumatic stress disorder from his days as a sex worker, something Cameron had also avoided telling the cops.

Cameron confirmed all of Cody’s story to the detectives, and was allowed to leave. Cody would be held without bail until his court date, where he would be tried for the murder of Damian. Cody’s lawyers built a solid case for his defense, citing abuse in foster care, the sex work, and PTSD. The prosecutor brought up the fact that Cody had been jealous of his coworkers success, and the fact that the little black book that he had stolen was Damian’s client book. The jury deliberated for hours, and the verdict came back, guilty of manslaughter. Cody would be sentenced to fifteen to twenty years in prison.

A week later Cameron got a letter in the mail, summoning him to a reading of Damian’s living will. He had quite a few relatives, so the reading took some time, but in the end, Damian left Cameron his entire wine collection, plus a cash sum of twenty thousand dollars. It seemed ironic to him that he had gotten the same amount of money that his brother had killed over, and wondered if that had somehow been on purpose.

Cameron once again went home to his little studio apartment, this time attempting to wash away the memories with wine. How could he forget his beloved Damian? As he drowned in his wine and his sorrows, he almost forgot why he was sad.
