23-Year-Old Woman Accused Of Pretending To Be 14 Years Old To Abuse Minors Is Arrested Again

Tampa, Florida

By Based On a True StoryPublished 3 months ago 3 min read

A few days ago, the authorities in Tampa, Florida, arrested a 23-year-old woman for abusing minors, whose ages range from 12 to 15 years old. The accused created a false identity to pretend that she was also another student.

Alyssa Ann Zinger had already been arrested in November. However, four more victims have reported it since then, bringing the number of minors involved to five.

The police have arrested the aggressor, who is charged with two charges for obscene acts and another two for sensual annoyance against the minors. In addition, the accused faces charges for possession and transmission of child pornography through electronic devices, and for cybernetically and sexually harassing her victims.

The situation came to light after Zinger had a relationship with one of the minors, while sending explicit material to another.

During all these interactions, the accused pretended to be a 14-year-old girl, creating profiles on different social networks in which she imposed the life of a teenager. By not being able to attend the institute for obvious reasons, the young woman invented that she studied at home.

Tampa Police officers managed to unmask the situation after an investigation of more than a year. Thanks to this, they were able to expose the interactions, which were mainly developed through the Snapchat application, with the minors who attended the Wilson Middle School, located in the Hyde Park neighborhood.

The first time she was arrested, she was accused of having a minimum of 30 sexual acts with a high school student. Zigner had a romantic relationship with his victim for four months of 2023, from May to September. The police were alerted after the minor spoke to one of his teachers.

In addition to this complaint, on one occasion Zigner was caught while stealing from a store next to one of her victims. The aggressor tried to maintain her false identity before the agents, assuring them that she was born in 2009. However, she could not provide any evidence to support his age, so the authorities decided to start investigating.

Although this case came to light, the Police did not stop delving into the case, since they suspected the existence of more victims.

The same week of her first arrest, the accused was arrested again after several new victims alleged that they had been sexually assaulted.

The Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office and the Tampa Police Department are in charge of the investigation.

Erin Maloney, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office, told the Tampa Bay Times that “the prosecutors seek to keep Zigner in prison until his case is resolved.”

In turn, Lee Bercaw, head of the Tampa Police Department, has called for “anyone who may have been a victim of Zinger,” to go to the police station.

“The Tampa Police Department will support you and make sure that a predator like Zinger does not cause additional harm to you or others.”

Tanya Arja, spokesperson for the Wilson Middle School, assured that Zinger never tried to access the institution by posing as a student.

“This didn’t happen at our school. However, we are glad that a student felt safe enough to go to an adult on campus to alert them to this incident. Our staff immediately contacted the police so that they could start an investigation.”

United States authorities kept all the information about Alyssa Ann Zinger's studies private. The only thing that is known is that he does not have any kind of university degree, having studied until high school. In addition, she is not married or has a stable partner.
