I went to Camp.
Forward. The following is a album review of Childish Gambino's "Camp" told in the form of story and reaction. Each song from the album is accompanied by a subsequent story or reaction to the experience I personally feel. This should be read for inspiration and entertainment. Lastly, consider listening to the album while you read along for an enhanced experience. Thank you.
Gregory FuentesPublished 4 years ago in Beat7 Music Production Tips I Wish I'd Paid More Attention To
Years ago, after I got past the very beginning stage of learning how to produce music, I started to ignore a lot of “basic” advice I would hear when I was looking for ways to get better. I would think something along the lines of, “I already know that, I’m sick of hearing this shit, give me something more advanced”.

It was about 5 years ago when I discovered a niche YouTube channel by NPR Music. This channel is called NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert where artists from all over the charts come and preform in a literal, tiny desk setting. These performances range from new artists to billboard toppers such as Paramore, Hozier, Tyler the Creator, Taylor Swift and Adele, to just name a few. These artists play a small set of 3-4 songs either acoustically or with a band. The first artist that lead me to Tiny Desk Concert was Matty Healy's performance for The 1975 about 6 years ago. Being a huge The 1975 fan, I discovered this acoustic set through their following and with my natural curiosity, I discovered a treasure chest of gold.

Hi all! After last week’s celebratory Christmas edition, it’s only fair that this week we keep in the theme of coming to the end of the year. Last week Spotify released their “Spotify Wrapped” which can show listeners their favourite music of the year, favourite music of the decade, and how much music they’ve listened to. This week I’ll be digging into my own personal music taste and sharing five tunes that I’ve had on repeat this year!

It’s that time of the year again. Where we sip pumpkin spice lattes and watch the leaves change colors. Frozen turkeys and pumpkin pies slowly make their way into our grocery stores and our mouths water in anticipation for the big day.
Alliyah BecerraPublished 4 years ago in BeatShakira: Once Only a Latino Act, She Is Now a True Staple of Globalization
I first heard Shakira in 1995 while accompanying my mother as she ran some errands. Sitting in the backseat of the car, I took interest in a song which began to play on the radio. The musical style of the song was familiar; similar to the songstress aesthetic of the 90's crafted by artists such as Joan Osborne, Alanis Morissette, and Jewel. However, the voice was not familiar whatsoever. What was more surprising is that she was singing in Spanish.
Top Albums of 2019
2019 was another year for music. There is been so much good and bad projects overall. Even though the year isn’t technically over, 2019 has had some great albums. Different artists this year I think tried to expand more than fans what were used to hearing and tried experimenting. It worked for some artists and didn’t work for others as well. On the other hand, many artists created projects that I personally enjoyed. Some can agree that these were albums to highlight the year.
Bralen WilliamsPublished 4 years ago in BeatHow I Got My Track on Spotify Editorial Playlists
On the 26th of July I released my track "Take It Back." It hit several big Spotify Editorial Playlists and racked up 100,000 streams in the first two weeks.
Aidan BlackPublished 4 years ago in BeatMy BandLab Addiction
I love BandLab and, as far as I know, BandLab most certainly loves me. BandLab itself is an eye opener for an artist with a smartphone. The fact that I can remotely make music on the fly with a built-in DAW on an app still makes me smile. Discovering loopers... that was just the automated icing on the cake. The communities themselves are also a great way to discover other musicians and, when applicable, shamelessly plug yourself as well.

Vocal Curation TeamPublished 4 years ago in BeatNew School: Hip-Hop’s New Leading Class
Hip-Hop has been around for many years and has told the story of how different people are struggling and can relate to each other. Hip-Hop is about sharing your struggles and realizing everyone who listens have that one thing in common and you can turn it into art. I have been listening to hip-hop for years now. I grew up on rap greats like Nas, Jay-Z, Lil’ Kim, 50-Cent, Eminem, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and many more. Ever since then, I have started paying real close attention to what these musical geniuses say. Now in this generation, only a few people are actually continuing to do what hip-hop has been for the last years and making it into the right way. I pay attention to the lyrics, which help people relate and listen. Also, I listen to authenticity as rappers talk about real-life situations and not fake things, and trying to be someone they are not. I recommend some new listeners take this into perspective of these new artists. I believe after listening for a long time, these 10 rappers of the new school are finishing the path “old school” rappers started.
