Press Release

NEW YORK -- Friday, June 19th, 2020 -- Amir Royale, a rising recording artist, actor, filmmaker and entrepreneur from Queens, N.Y., released “Turnin You Out” today, another hit record with fellow polymath and songwriter/producer DOMENICO.

“Turnin You Out” is a sensuous tune that describes sneaking around with a romantic partner to smooth hip hop verses and a futuristic electronic chorus.

Intertwined in the record’s sensual undertones, the verses highlight the excitement that develops during the struggle to keep a new relationship under wraps, and how many boundaries a pair can cross before friends catch on.

“In our generation — that 19-year-old to 21-year-old space — it’s thrilling to be in something and try to keep it a secret before people figure it out,” Royale said.

Royale wrote the lyrics for “Turnin You Out,” and recorded the rap verses. DOMENICO produced the record, and the pair mixed it together. The cover art was animated by Carli Neustadt of New York University’s Future Music Moguls 2019 program.

This record marks the third collaboration between Royale and DOMENICO released under DOMENICO’s label, il Dottore. The two entrepreneurs run indie labels Blues Bell Music and il Dottore out of New York City. Previously, the pair worked on “Rare Kind” in 2018 and “People Say,” which was released in January 2020. Royale and DOMENICO continue to work on new music regularly.

“Turnin You Out” follows the re-release of Royale’s debut mixtape Magnificent last month, the short film Please Stop Calling Me in April, the release of the soulful hip hop record “Hold it Down (Freestyle)” in February, and the emotionally powerful single “People Say” in January, as previously mentioned.
