Top Twelve Must-Haves For The 2018 Music Festival Season
Everyone knows what a cool pair of sunglasses or a super-rad hat can do for their “cool kid points” at a festival, but you will usually find that, the closer to the festival season you get, the less likely you are to get these awesome products for less than an arm and a leg. However, there’s still hope despite this, and picking some of your items now can help you to save money later, which really is just a win-win no matter how you look at it. Although the world of music festival fashion is immense and constantly changing, these are some of the basic products that never fail to be awesome without the price tag commonly associated with the music festival world.Samantha Donaldson
7 Worst Rock Bands of the 1990s
In the immortal words of the great hip-hop luminary Unkle Adams, "Oy I’m from the 90s, boy I’m from the 90s, boy I’m from the 90s, didn’t cha knooooow?! Girls with the scrunchies, ribbons, and boooows, the Velcro shoes and the neon cloooothes." Real words to live by right there. However, with the sickening deluge of 90s nostalgia that seems to spew from every corner of the internet in 2017, it's easy to forget all of the aspects and components of 90s culture that were simply atrocious. While much of the music that came out of the 90s has since proven itself to have the ability to withstand the test of time nearly 20 years later, like with any decade, the 90s gifted us plenty of garbage, as well. But while Shirley Manson and the gang surely produced some of the most interesting rock music of the decade, it was not enough to distract from all the trash (cause ya see?). In this list, I will be taking a look at seven of the worst rock bands to gift this decade with its sonic displeasures, because boy do I love to hate things. Let us kick off this super objective and not at all meme-centric list with:Matt Knight
An Album Comparison
I first discovered the folk opera Hadestown a couple of years ago when I was researching the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, one of the favorites, and found that there was a concept album based on this story. The album was available for listening on YouTube and I was instantly obsessed. Unlike your typical concept album, there are different singers playing the different characters in the story. It feels like the cast recording of a musical and my first thought was that there should be a stage production. Sure enough, there was one in New York but it came and went before I had the chance to see it. So I looked up everything I could find of the production online which was tantalizingly little. Then it was announced a few months ago that a cast recording was to be released and I quickly pre-ordered it off of iTunes and waited for the whole thing to be available with a track released every few weeks to wet my appetite.Rachel Lesch

Eighteen-year-old rapper and singer Trippie Redd (also known as Lil 14) is making his mark in 2017. Redd just dropped his second album A Love Letter To You 2. This album is making its mark amongst rap fans of all ages. However, before dropping A Love Letter To You 2, he made his mark with his debut mixtape A Love Letter To You. Trippie has found a new spot in the music game amongst other rappers such as XXXTENTACION, Famous Dex, and Lil Yachty.Alí González
Jason Aldean Not Backing Down
How is Jason Aldean keeping it together this week? On October 1, the country singer was on stage for the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival. When the shooting broke out, it's been widely reported that Aldean left the stage, likely to try and find cover as quickly as he could in the wake of such terror.Christina St-Jean
The Bobby Shmurda Effect
At just 17 years old, rapper Tay K has achieved notoriety in what seems like the blink of an eye. When he took off his ankle bracelet and dashed from the cops while on house arrest to film his video for “The Race,” hip-hop rejoiced.
Is Dying a Good Career Move?
Dying as a career move may sound like a strange question, but there’s plenty of evidence that it works, at least for the deceased’s benefactors. There are many cases where the person is remembered as they were but also many who seemed to become more wonderful the second they were no longer with us.ASHLEY SMITH
A.Boogie - 'The Bigger Artist'
His talent speaks for itself. Strengths/Weaknesses It seems like every other day there’s a new artist going viral or dominating Soundcloud with their music. Music has never been so easily accessible, and listeners are consuming music much faster than at any other point in history. There are so many trends and fads that it’s easy to get dizzy trying to keep up with all of them. With so many artists to choose from and numerous channels to discover them, many artists will be here today and gone tomorrow.
10 Modern Heavy Metal Bands To Check Out
Heavy metal, its definition has changed over the years and the term's origin is disputed to this day. While the genre has evolved into a variety of different strains, its purest form remains a steadfast genre in the metal canon that keeps up and coexists with its extreme offspring. It is often said that metal will never die, while I'm inclined to believe that the following bands are more than happy to prove you right. Without further ado 10 Awesome, Epic, Face-Melting, Modern Heavy Metal Bands.Dustin Miller
Macklemore — 'Gemini'
Here is an album review of Macklemore's Gemini. Strengths/Weaknesses Let’s face it: Geminis are the punching bags of the zodiac. The rest of the zodiac would have you believe that they’re two-faced and shallow. They're stereotypically associated with snakes for their deceptive behavior.
Smokepurpp – 'Deadstar'
Hip-hop has been enjoying a shift in its sonic landscape for a few years now. Southern rappers like T.I. and Jeezy were ahead of the pack because trap instrumentals are everywhere now. Today’s beats are arguably more innovative than they were in the past; there’s less sampling and more 808 drums.
Musicians Who Hate Their Fans
If you listen to music (if you don't, are you even human?), then you must have some favorite artists that you always jam out to. You become fond of their style in music genre and constantly stick to whatever they release into the wild. And all we do is sit there and praise the amazing music they create. But nothing is better than seeing your dearest artists performing your favorite songs live — Ed Sheeran on stage sounds exactly like his recorded music... Unreal.C.C. Curtis
